“The health care thing. This is, this is very important for you. Because all of us are vulnerable to disease and accident and we need to have some kind of structure in America to deal with that in a fair way that doesn't harm the country…What you're entitled to is a fair health care premium. You're entitled to that. Access to doctors in your neighborhood, you're entitled to that... You're entitled to, if disaster befalls you, you're entitled to, you know the insurance companies having to step up to some extent… And you're entitled to the state to deliver fair, if you don't have any money, Medicaid. But not unlimited crazy stuff.”

Today, Senate Republicans unveiled their new proposed bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Republican lawmakers said the new bill would deliver about $70 billion in additional funds that states could use to help reduce premiums and out-of-pocket costs, making health care more affordable.

The bill would also allow insurers to offer health plans that did not comply with standards in the Affordable Care Act.

Bill also explained why America does not have a similar healthcare system to Canada – where costs are low but wait times can be deadly – and why a ‘hybrid’ plan, Obamacare, did not work.

“We the people have rejected that government run system. Up until now. The Democratic Party wants it. They haven't been able to impose it. They tried a kind of a hybrid with Obamacare. And the reason Obamacare didn't work was, one it was way too confusing. Two ,it spent so much money on those who don't have anything or refuse to work or whatever that the working people saw their premiums rise and rise and rise and rise. And so you're punishing the productive people by giving health insurance to those who aren't that productive. Anyways it may sound cruel but that's what it is.”

To succeed in getting the senate’s healthcare bill past, Majority leader Mitch McConnell must win over almost all the holdouts in his caucus.

McConnell is trying to avoid a repeat of the Senate Republicans first attempt to push the health care bill through the chamber. That attempt failed when the majority leader was forced to delay a vote, planned for last month, because of opposition to the bill from his own party.
