Senate Republican leaders are trying to keep their effort to dismantle Obamacare alive with a showdown vote Tuesday. Tomorrow’s vote is on whether to begin debate on repealing the Affordable Care Act.

Exactly what legislation they will be debating is still unclear.

Leading up to the big vote, President Trump upped pressure on Republican senators to get on board in an address to the nation Monday afternoon.

“Every Republican running for office promised immediate relief from this disastrous law, but so far, Senate Republicans have not done their job in ending the Obamacare nightmare,” the president said. “There’s been enough talk and no action; now is the time for action.”

Bill gave his take on Trump’s remarks and the upcoming vote in the No Spin News.

“This afternoon Donald Trump started to pound Obamacare again, calling it a disaster. All of this is an attempt to persuade the Republican senators to vote for whatever Mitch McConnell, the Senate leader, puts in front of them. I don’t know what he’s going to put in front of them. Probably a simply ‘we have to vote on extending the debate over Obamacare repeal’ or something like that.”

“I think President Trump is frustrated. The Republican party is in disarray. It certainly in in disarray…So you have a situation that the Republican party, the perception of it is that it doesn’t have control of the process.  That is going to hurt the vote in 2018.”
