Last night the President apologized for not being more direct with the American people about Obamacare. But it was really a nothing statement and he had to do it. With anger growing across the country and Democratic politicians very worried, Mr. Obama finally admitted some culpability.

OBAMA: I am sorry that they, you know, are finding themselves in this situation based on assurances they got from me. We've got to work hard to make sure that they know we hear them and that we're going to do everything we can to deal with the folks who find themselves in a tough position as a consequence of this.

O'REILLY: When pressed to explain what happens now, the President fell back on his playbook.

OBAMA: My job right now is to make sure that with the asset that we have, we get it done, we get it fixed and you know, there are going to be some lessons learned.

O'REILLY: Lessons learned and we'll get it fixed. Where have we heard that before?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

OBAMA: I can tell you that if you've got the IRS operating in anything less than a neutral and nonpartisan way, then that is outrageous, it is contrary to our traditions, and people have to be held accountable and it's got to be fixed.

And when it comes to this issue, when I saw that we are going to find out exactly what happened, everybody will be held accountable.

O'REILLY: But no one was held accountable for Benghazi and no one has been held accountable for the deplorable rollout of Obamacare. Now in a bit of an irony, on a guy named Dylan Rattigan who used to work for MSNBC, put out this quote "I bought a catastrophic health care plan for $170 a month when I left MSNBC. Obamacare canceled the policy -- new rate, $600 a month. Thanks, Mr. President."

I wonder if he'll lead with that over there. The unattended consequences of Obamacare are just beginning to be felt by Americans. Every day, thousands of us are having to deal with dramatic change and often dramatic new expense. This cannot turn out well for the President, or for the Democratic Party no matter what they say.

But again "Talking Points" urges fairness in the reporting of Obamacare, not partisan hysteria. Americans are now in the middle of an intense political war between big government people and small government folks. And the winner of that war will be the side that tells the truth and states the facts whatever they may be.
