BILL O'REILLY SIGNS TWO- BOOK DEAL WITH HENRY HOLT
Publisher Has Next Three Books by O'Reilly Following
Tremendous Success of The Instant No. 1 National Best Seller 'Killing Lincoln'

Oct. 31, 2011, NEW YORK-Bill O'Reilly, author of the current No. 1 nonfiction national best seller "Killing Lincoln: The Shocking Assassination That Changed America Forever," written with Martin Dugard, has signed a new two-book contract with Henry Holt and Company, it was announced today by Stephen Rubin, Holt's president and publisher. Holt now owns the next three books by O'Reilly including "Bolder and Fresher: The Factor Years," his next memoir, which Holt signed in the spring. Of the two new books, one will be another presidential history. Publication dates are yet to be announced.

"Killing Lincoln" is O'Reilly's first book of history and has had meteoric sales since its publication five week ago on Sept. 27. The book landed instantly at No. 1 on the New York Times's nonfiction best-seller list and has remained there for five weeks. There have been ten printings of the hardcover with the sales currently at 950,000 copies, and continuing at a fast pace.

"The fantastic sales velocity of 'Killing Lincoln' is every publisher's dream," said Rubin. "I remain in awe, as I have during the publication of all of the books Bill and I have done together, of his unequalled ability as a writer and a communicator to strike the right chord every time, not only with his loyal audience but with so many new readers as well."

"The reason my books have been successful is because of the amazing support provided by the Factor audience, and Steve Rubin," said O'Reilly. "It's a dream partnership."

O'Reilly is the recipient of many journalism awards, including three Emmys. His previous works of nonfiction all went to No.1 on national bestseller lists. There are more than five million copies of O'Reilly's books in print. He holds master's degrees from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and from Boston University, as well as a bachelor's degree in history from Marist College.

Rubin acquired world rights, audio and first serial from Eric Simonoff at William Morris Endeavor for the next two books. Holt's editor in chief, Gillian Blake, who edited "Killing Lincoln," will also edit the next three books.
