There are a flurry of illegal immigration stories in play and there is a common denominator to all of them: defying the law. 

Although it is not often stated, the far left position on immigration is total amnesty for all foreign nationals in the USA without credentials, and an open border policy where, like Europe, anyone can visit and stay as long as they want. 

That mentality drives the Sanctuary City movement and liberal opposition to all illegal alien restraints including Kate's Law.  The national press will not report this story because it is largely simpatico with the far left agenda.
