Hollywood Station by Joseph Wambaugh is a great crime novel set in the world of the LAPD. It's a gritty, gripping read and very enjoyable. Or, for sports fans, check out Namath by Joe Namath. It's an autobiography by the New York Jet, and includes a special bonus DVD with exclusive footage.
