After spending a week in California, I lived to tell the tale.

First of all, beautiful state and generally nice folks.  The grass and foliage is lush, green, and scenic, not the usual brown.  We drove from San Francisco to Los Angeles, stopping in the great Monterey area and Big Sur.

The city by the bay is a wreck, homeless substance abusers running wild, few visible police, property crimes at record levels because the idiot District Attorney is not interested in prosecuting them.  Of course the addicts know that so there’s no constraint.

I stayed at the Hyatt Fisherman’s Wharf, the city’s safest neighborhood.  Even there, pot smokers roam around blowing aromatic smoke near children.  Alcatraz looms just off shore, perhaps they should reopen it.

In addition to the room rate, the following was tacked on: Occupancy Tax, SF TID, California Tourism Assessment, Destination Fee, Moscone District Assessment.

In the restaurant, not a winner BTW, there was a surcharge because the minimum wage was hiked.  That’s in addition to the 10 percent sales tax.

So this is what liberal governance brings.  This is the future of America if it morphs into California.

Paging Joe Biden, what say you?
