Jerry Lewis and I were friends. He wrote me a beautiful letter on December 19th, 2006.

"Dear Bill, I've been watching and enjoying you for a number of years. I just finished Culture Warrior. And I'm pretty sure that thirty members of my staff and crew will enjoy it as well because I bought out Barnes and Noble. (Culture Warrior was a precursor to what we're having right now in this country.) I understand why you are the number one cable news program; it's concise, articulate, caring and passionate. All the things that make you a great journalist. I thought what you did with that moron Cashman in Vermont (he was the judge who allowed the man who molested a little girl out, just out, didn't even hold him) was one of the best holiday gifts I've received this year. If I listed all the things I believe you have done to help this country, I'd have to ship this letter by Mayflower." Jerry Lewis.

So Jerry Lewis, when I was a kid I loved him. I loved the Nutty Professor, The Bellhop, all of those things. You know, the guy was supremely gifted, loved his country, raised all that money for muscular dystrophy. He died at 91.
