The movie Oppenheimer is worth your time, which is three hours plus counting insipid coming attractions, mostly about grisly horror stuff.

In reality, Oppenheimer itself is a real-life horror film about weapons that can obliterate the planet. Even the Rock couldn't save it.

Oppenheimer will win the Oscar for Best Picture because Hollywood is desperately trying to save itself, and this is an actual movie that deals with documented history. It's not woke or foolish, or patronizing. There are no zombies or superheroes. If you watch it, you will have to possess a frame of reference, or you'll be lost.

Having written "Killing the Rising Sun," I watched Oppenheimer with a critical eye. My book goes much deeper into the Japanese conflict, but I had 300 pages. The movie takes a gratuitous shot at President Harry Truman and, for some reason, sprinkles jarring nudity around, but the project is light years better than any recent film.

All human beings should understand the destruction stakes in this world. Guys like Putin and Xi could embrace nuclear madness. Oppenheimer doesn't settle for simple. It will bring you up to speed.

I'll have a formal review this evening on the No Spin News. See you then.
