Kermit Gosnell, a 75 year-old former abortion doctor, committed some of the most gruesome crimes of this century, yet few people know who he is.  In this episode, journalists Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer, authors of the new book Gosnell: The Untold Story of America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer, explain why the mainstream media largely ignore the atrocities committed by Gosnell.

Although authorities believe Gosnell had thousands of victims, Gosnell is serving life in prison for the murders of three babies who prosecutors say were born alive and then killed in Gosnell’s clinic, among other crimes he committed while running an abortion clinic so grisly it gained the moniker the “House of Horrors.”

On this podcast, McElhinney and McAleer discuss why they took on this difficult case, question why Black Lives Matter has ignored the story, and explain what it was like to meet Gosnell in person.

Listen now to hear more about this incredible story.

Excerpts:

“Gosnell” author – media didn’t want to cover a story that reflected poorly on abortion

ROBERT SAMUEL (O’REILLY FACTOR PRODUCER):  What’s your theory on why the American media didn’t, wasn’t as interested as you were in this case?

PHELIM MCALEER, “GOSNELL” CO-AUTHOR: They didn’t want to cover a story that would reflect negatively on abortion.  Pure and simple.  You know journalists are overwhelmingly, and I think they would admit this, are overwhelmingly pro-choice, pro-abortion. And they’re perfectly entitled to their opinions by the way.  But it shouldn’t influence their coverage of a stunning news story and it did.

Black Lives Matter “absent” in Gosnell story

ANN MCELHINNEY, “GOSNELL” CO-AUTHOR: I don’t want to sound smart or smug, but you know Black Lives Matter.

ROBERT SAMUEL: Right.

MCELHINNEY: That movement are very absent in this story.  And these children by the way were murdered, exactly as you said, let’s get away from the abortion issue for a minute.  These children were murdered.

SAMUEL: At least three, yeah.

MCELHINNEY: And these are like, these are the most defenseless as you can imagine, victims you could possibly imagine.  And I would love to hear, why is it that Black Lives Matter haven’t turned up for those children by the way?

PHELIM MCALEER, “GOSNELL” CO-AUTHOR: He was charged originally with seven [murders].

SAMUEL: Right.

MCALEER: They believe hundreds.

SAMUEL: Yeah.

MCALEER: If not thousands.  He was at this for thirty years.
