In 2007 Italian authorities arrested and charged American college student Amanda Knox for the murder of her roommate while she was studying abroad in Perugia.  In one the most widely covered stories of this century, Knox was convicted and spent four years in prison before winning her appeal.  While back in the United States, Knox’s conviction was re-instated before she was again acquitted by Italy’s highest court.

Knox speaks out about her incredible ordeal in a new Netflix documentary called “Amanda Knox.”

In this episode, we speak to the film’s directors, Brian McGinn and Rod Blackhurst.

McGinn and Blackhurst reveal why Knox agreed to appear on camera in their film, discuss why the Knox story became a media frenzy, and describe how Donald Trump once called for a boycott of Italy over the country’s handling of the case.
