Qualified immunity is a legal term that prevents criminals and others from suing police officers acting in the line of duty. Only the state of Colorado denies its law enforcement this protection.

The progressive left is trying hard to do away with legal protections for police, and in New York State, it may happen under far-left Governor Kathy Hochul.

If arrestees can bring suit against officers, the justice system will collapse because of the expense of defending yourself in civil court. Criminals will get free representation from anti-police attorneys. The cops would have to pay and risk judgments against them.

So fewer qualified individuals would want to be cops, and many on the job would get out. Civil lawsuit expenses routinely run into hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The progressive movement sees policing as racist and is trying to destroy the traditional system. Far-left prosecutors in major cities have ignited a violent crime wave by failing to bring charges in thousands of cases. We all understand what's going on.

Governor Hochul has to know how dangerous New York currently is. But she could not care less because her backers, the money people, are anti-police. And so is she.

It is clear that America has reached the breaking point as progressives run wild, aided by a corrupt corporate media. Thousands of poor people are being killed and maimed under the anti-police banner.

Governor Hochul is on the ballot in November. She is favored to win in liberal New York. If she does, many more will violently die.
