Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl finally pleaded guilty for deserting his combat unit in Afghanistan.  That happened in 2009 and members of Bergdahl's squad were killed and hurt hunting for him in Taliban territory.

What the Sergeant did is inexcusable.  Nevertheless, in 2014, President Obama traded five captured Taliban commanders for Bergdahl who was a Taliban prisoner for nearly five years.

Now he will be a prisoner again, this time in a military facility, at least that is what initial reports are saying.

There is no question that military authorities allowed the Bergdahl case to drag on far too long.  That's because the whole thing is a huge embarrassment to the USA and the government did not want public testimony from Bergdahl's unit.

So, finally, he is apparently admitting his guilt.  Let him be sentenced in a just way and be done with him.
