An entire political party is failing to admit there is an emergency at the southern border and opposes strict border patrol. It has been reported that some Republicans have signaled they will not be supporting an attempt by President to get more wall funding through the declaration. The Republican opposition to the emergency declaration centers around giving the President too much power to dodge congress when funding is the issue—a theoretical argument.
