President Biden’s address today about spend and tax is his biggest gamble. It is clear that although Mr. Biden is getting high marks on the vaccine rollout, his border policy is a disaster. One that voters will not forget.

 

Americans are also paying more for gas and fossil fuels and that will not be forgotten.

 

If the economy starts to wobble because of higher federal taxes everywhere, the President will lead his party to a significant defeat in the midterms, just 19 months away.

 

So, his vision of massive government spending becomes his signature issue. Never before has a President touted so much money being subtracted from the Treasury. It is a colossal bet with the American worker’s financial well being on the line.

 

The odds are against Joe Biden. He must feel that at age 78, he has little to lose.
