O'Reilly on Tax Cuts in Congress, More Trump Administration Shuffling, and Roy Moore in Alabama

Bill began Wednesday's No Spin News with an analysis of President Trump's recently-completed visit to five nations in Asia.

"This was all about economics and trade deals," he said, "and it was about isolating North Korea.  Trump's style, and I know this because I've known the guy for 30 years, is to try and become friends with folks.  He feels that if he has that camaraderie and rapport he can make good deals, and that's what he did.  Did he get any good deals?  I don't know, but he says it was a successful trip."

Bill theorized that the trip was very much about domestic politics:  "He needs to look presidential, he needs to look like he's in charge of the most powerful nation in the world because he has to get this tax cut passes.  He needs to look like an active president, not some guy tweeting in the middle of the night.  And the Asian leaders were all very deferential to President Trump, there wasn't any acrimony or tension."

Bill warned of an upcoming brawl over tax reform in the Senate and then went out on a limb with a few surprising predictions:  "It looks to me like Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is going, I don't think Donald Trump likes him.  And he would be replaced by Mike Pompeo, the CIA director.  Pompeo and Chief of Staff John Kelly are the confidants of President Trump right now.  I also think Attorney General Jeff Sessions will be gone, but right now it all depends on whether he appoints a special prosecutor to look into Hillary Clinton's shenanigans like the Uranium One deal.  President Trump wants a special counsel because he is so angry with the way Robert Mueller is conducting his investigation.  There's enough there, particularly with the Fusion GPS stuff, to warrant a special counsel."

Speaking of people who may not be around for long, Bill brought up Judge Roy Moore, who is running to replace Jeff Sessions in the Senate from Alabama.  "Nobody likes him," Bill declared, "he is now a pariah because he didn't defend himself very well against charges that he tried to date teenagers when he was 32 years old.  But if he decides to hang in, Alabamans probably dislike the media more than they dislike him, so he could win.  And if he wins, the Republicans in the Senate don't want any part of him.  He is a dubious figure, no doubt about it."

Turning to the NFL, Bill reported that the league and its owners are paying a steep financial price for the players' protests:  "They're losing a lot of business.  One NFL person told me their merchandising business is down 20% and it's all because of this 'social justice' protest.  Americans don't want you disrespecting the flag, even if they're sympathetic to what you're protesting about.  The NFL didn't get this under control as other leagues have, they let it get out of control."

Continuing on that subject, Bill welcomed Emily Compagno, an attorney who was also a cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders.  "My definition of patriotism," she declared, "is that it is unconscionable for you to disrespect the flag.  You can be a patriot and challenge the government without disrespecting the flag.  My grandfather renounced his Italian citizenship to come to this country and many members of my family were in the military.  I will honor the flag and show solidarity with the flag.  What can we stand for if we are not proud of this country?"

Compagno also put forth her personal philosophy on getting ahead:  "My education, drive, and commitment have afforded me every opportunity I have ever sought.  If I ever lost to someone, then I respect that person that out-competed me."

Bill moved on to a new Quinnipiac poll showing that 58% of Americans think President Trump is being treated unfairly by the media.  Meanwhile, a Politico poll found that an astounding 46% of voters believe the media actually fabricate stories about the Trump administration.  "Folks are catching on," he concluded.

In their emails and message board comments, Premium Members opined on America's ongoing social civil war.  Bill vowed to keep fighting the good fight:  "We have branded this website 'Take Your Country Back,'" he said, "and we are going to give you the honest truth about what is happening."
