Video: O'Reilly on Trump Speculation & Kathy Griffin
May 31, 2017

Wednesday's No Spin News began with a dramatic and very timely story that illustrates the decline of network news.  Scott Pelley, anchor of the CBS Evening News for the past six years, has been replaced … and almost no one noticed.  It's a far cry from the days when Jennings, Rather, and Brokaw ruled their respective network roosts, when it was huge news when one of them retired or was fired.

In news from Washington, former FBI honcho James Comey will testify in front of Congress, perhaps as early as next week.  Naturally, all the Trump-hating networks are having a field day speculating what he will say and whether he will severely damage President Trump.  But in fact, all of that is pure, unadulterated speculation put forth by irresponsible reporters.

Meanwhile, President Trump will apparently extract the USA from the Paris climate accords, which has ignited a firestorm of indignation on the left.  Trump's enemies are now accusing him of despoiling the planet and pretty much ruining civilization as we know it.  But we should give Donald Trump a chance to explain his rationale for withdrawing from that agreement, should we not?

Then there is Kathy Griffin, who took Trump Derangement Syndrome to new depths when she held up the faux severed head of the president.  She was apparently stunned by the widespread outrage and now admits that it was over the line and not funny.  Ms. Griffin begged forgiveness, but CNN has canned her from co-hosting the New Year's Eve show with Anderson Cooper.  President Trump also weighed in, saying Kathy Griffin "should be ashamed of herself."

According to a new and reputable poll, 55% of Americans have a negative view of the Republican health care proposal.  That's not terribly surprising, given that 95% Americans don't have a clue what's in the plan.  About half of the country now has a favorable view of ObamaCare, but that is no doubt skewed by the people who are getting a free ride.

A vastly under-reported story comes out of Wisconsin, where a proposed bill would discourage college students from disrupting campus speakers, who usually turn out to be conservatives.  Protesters who prevent their classmates from hearing a guest speaker could be suspended and even expelled.  This may be a very welcome sign that many Americans are finally getting fed up with all the campus craziness.  The Wisconsin legislators may do what cowardly college administrators refuse to do, namely holding students accountable for their reprehensible actions.

NSN concluded with comments and questions from BillOReilly.com Premium Members, who put forth some trenchant observations about world and national events.  Finally, Bill ended with a major reveal – Dennis Miller himself will be calling into the No Spin News on Thursday.  So catch the podcast tomorrow to hear the latest observations and witticisms from The Sage of Southern California.
