Obamacare Repeal Effort Goes Up In Flames

In this episode, Bill breaks down all the news you need to know, including the Republicans’ failure to repeal Obamacare, some successes by President Trump you may not know about, and a very suspicious police shooting in Minneapolis.

Obamacare Repeal Effort

Bill led off the program with the major news that Republican Senators announced they did not have the votes to repeal Obamacare.

Bill said that the Republicans who opposed the Obamacare repeal legislation let working class people down, and that the whole fiasco had to do with Republican leaders in the Senate failing to bring all its members into the fold.

“The Republican Party cannot get, cannot force, that’s the best word, all of its members to compromise, whereas the Democrats can,” Bill said.

Bill noted that President Trump still had a forward-looking approach to the issue, with the president Tweeting out, “As I have always said, let ObamaCare fail and then come together and do a great healthcare plan. Stay tuned!”

Bill then brought the Heritage Foundation’s Tommy Binion on the program to assess the situation.

Mr. Binion said he believed there was so much pressure on Republicans to repeal Obamacare that another healthcare bill will be put forward this year in the Senate.

Bill was skeptical, and said he believed Republicans would move onto tax reform.

But Mr. Binion said Republicans likely can’t move forward on tax issues until they put their differences aside and pass meaningful healthcare legislation.

Regardless, both Bill and Mr. Binion agreed that the Obamacare repeal effort will have an enormous impact on the 2018 Congressional elections.

“2018 hangs on what the Senate does this week and next, it’s a big deal,” Mr. Binion said.

Some Good News for President Trump

Bill next moved on to some good news for President Trump.  According to a new Bloomberg poll, President Trump is viewed more favorably than Hillary Clinton, with 41% viewing the president favorably compared to 39% for Hillary. Bill said this was a good sign for Trump given all the negative attention he’s received from the press.

Also, the head of the Border Patrol says there has been a “miraculous” decline in illegal immigration on the southern border.

“You’ve got to give him that, the border is more secure without the wall even going up,” Bill said.

Unmasking Controversy

Bill next reported that the House Intelligence Committee will be interviewing Obama administration officials Susan Rice and Samantha Power about the unmasking of Americans names in U.S. intelligence reports. Bill said he was concerned that the American people will never get the facts about this story because the interviews are being conducted in secret.

Bernie Sanders’ Wife Under Investigation

Jane Sanders, wife of liberal U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), is under federal investigation for possible bank fraud for a loan she secured for a now defunct Vermont college.

Ms. Sanders is blaming sexism for the investigation, which Bill said is absurd. Bill opined that most criticism in the political arena is politically based, not gender based, and that there are too many women from both political parties who are overzealous in their sexism accusations.

Controversial Police Shooting

Bill next reported on a highly unusual police shooting in Minneapolis, MN. An Australian woman living there called the police Saturday night about a possible assault, but wound up dead after the first Somali-American police officer in the Twin Cities shot her.

Bill noted that there were very few facts about the shooting, but predicted it would become a major story.

Premium Member Mail

Bill next responded to emails from Premium Members, some of the highlights:

·      Bill believes the story of Donald Trump, Jr. meeting with some Russians for negative information about Hillary Clinton is finally dying out due to a lack of meaningful updates.

·      Bill thinks Trump’s approval rating is probably at about 40%, but that it will go much higher if tax reform is passed.

·      Bill thinks the root of Rand Paul’s problem with him is Bill’s past criticism of his father, former Congressman Ron Paul. But that it also has to do with Rand’s stubbornness.

·      If Bill were to interview Caitlyn Jenner, it’d be about politics and the transgender community’s reaction to her conservatism.

·      Bill thinks Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) will run for president, but her votes in the Democratic Primary will be cancelled out by the very far left Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA)

Bill then previews tomorrow’s sure-to-be rollicking conversation with Dennis Miller. Be sure to tune in tomorrow for another edition of the No Spin News.
