O'Reilly on North Korea, Media Distrust, & Chicago Violence
July 5, 2017

Tanned, toned, and rested after the long weekend, Bill began Wednesday's No Spin News with the ominous news that North Korea has tested a long-range ballistic missile.  "The bottom line," Bill said, "is that this regime simply wants to cause trouble.  Their only lifeline to the rest of the world is China, and Presidents Clinton and Bush and Obama and Trump all tried to have China clamp down on North Korea.  But it doesn't work, the Chinese are obviously not worried about North Korea launching a missile aimed at them."

Given all that, how should the USA respond to the nut job Kim Jong Un?  "We have to be methodical," Bill advised, "we can't bomb them like we bombed Syria because they would retaliate in a way that would damage the world.  I'd put an aircraft carrier off the coast of North Korea and President Trump should be blunt with the Chinese, who are not really helping out.  And if the North Koreans attack, we have to smash them."

Meanwhile, a new poll indicates that only 30% of Americans have trust in the media, while 68% do not.  But only slightly more, 37%, trust the Trump administration.  "If I were President Trump I'd be a little worried about that number," Bill observed, "because trust means that people believe you and respect what you're doing."  In a new column that is available here on BillOReilly.com, Bill advises President Trump on how to win his ongoing war with the media.

On that same general topic, Bill reported that MSNBC's virulently anti-Trump morning show registered record ratings last Friday.  "I predicted that would happen," he said, "but it's not going to last because the show is not very good.  Nobody who supports the Trump administration is going to watch it and no Republican will watch it.  Many media outlets have an agenda, which is to get this president out of office."

Bill turned to the ongoing chaos in Chicago, where more than 100 human beings were shot over the four-day holiday weekend.  Even worse, 15 Chicagoans were murdered in that span compared with four killed a year ago.  "President Trump has smartly sent for federal help," Bill said, "who will work with local and state police.  Mayor Rahm Emanuel has no clue, you'd be better off with a 6th grader in there.  In Chicago, unlike a lot of major cities, there is anarchy among the criminals.  In most big cities the drug dealing is handled by certain groups who police their own territories ruthlessly.  But there's no 'Mr. Big' in Chicago controlling the drug trade, it's all over the place and they are just killing each other."

Bill added that local police are despised by many black Chicago residents, who refuse to cooperate with the cops.  He advised the city to "flood the zone" with cops, federal agents, and the National Guard, which would serve as an "inhibitor" that could detain people in certain violent situations.  Bill cited the city of Chicago and Mayor Emanuel as Exhibits A and B for anyone needing evidence of government incompetence.

On a far more positive note, Bill reported that illegal border crossings are way, way down this year.  Apparently many poor would-be immigrants can't afford the soaring price charged by smugglers who could help them get into the USA.

Turning to viewer emails, Bill responded to one Premium Member who is extremely worried that Kate's Law will not get the 60 votes needed to pass the Senate.  "It's going to be tough," he conceded, "particularly if Mitch McConnell doesn't get behind it.  There has to be pressure put on Democrats and, really, if the Democratic Party defeats Kate's Law, I don't know how anyone could ever vote for them."  Bill urged viewers to contact both their senators, particularly any who happen to be Democrats.

Another PM suggested that President Trump should really cut down on the insulting tweets.  Bill's reply:  "I think the president's base will hang in because they loathe the people he's attacking.  He could build that base if he gets health care and tax cuts through."  Speaking of health care, Bill stated that the majority of Democrats truly pine for a single-payer, government-run system.

Finally, when one generous Premium Member asked how she and her husband could donate a TrackChair to a wounded vet, Bill directed them to the website IndependenceFund.org.  That organization supplies those high-tech and life-changing chairs to veterans in need.

Bill will be back with his usual sagacious analysis on another edition of No Spin News tomorrow.
