A clarification from AP
October 28, 2005
The Associated Press is running this correction to a story that it ran about Bill:
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- In an Oct. 25 story about the 35th anniversary of the comic strip "Doonesbury," The Associated Press reported that Fox talk show host Bill O'Reilly had once compared the cartoonist Garry Trudeau to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels.

In a 2004 column critical of Trudeau, O'Reilly began with an anecdote about how Goebbels used false images of dead German soldiers to rouse public passion in his case for war against Poland. The column later criticized Trudeau, claiming he was using images of a maimed U.S. soldier in the strip as a way to advance his opposition to the war.
