5 Nights of Coverage of Trump’s Sh**hole Remark

According to a poll from Business Insider's partner MSN, 48% of respondents thought Trump's “s***hole” comment was racist, while 51% said it was not.

The comment in question was Trump's reported use of the word "s***hole" to describe African nations and Haiti during a meeting with top senators about immigration last week.

The results were split heavily along party lines: 83% of Democrats considered the comment racist, 10% of Republicans felt the same, 50% of independents said Trump's comment was racist.

50% of the respondents in the MSN poll said they were offended by Trump's remarks. 54% said it was appropriate for the media to repeat Trump's language.

For five nights in a row, the media has focused on these comments. They haven’t been reporting on the economy, the immigration deal or the détente, as temporary as it may be, between North and South Korea. This is journalistic malpractice. It’s hard to believe that people can sit and watch the same story night after night.

One-third of voters give Trump an F for first year: poll

In a Politico/Morning Consult poll conducted from Jan. 4-5, they asked voters what grade they would give to Donald Trump after his first year in office, with A being excellent and F being failing.

The Republican breakdown had the following results: 72% of Republicans would give Trump an A or a B. 10% of Republicans would give Trump a D or an F.

Of course, the Democratic breakdown was completely different. Only 8% of Democrats would give Trump an A or a B and 79% of Democrats would give Trump a D or an F.

The Independents are the ones that Donald Trump's got to keep an eye on because he seems to be losing ground there. The breakdown among Independents was the following, 27% of independents would give Trump an A or a B and 45% of independents would give Trump a D or an F.

Gallup: 61 Percent of Republicans Satisfied With Direction of US

A recent Gallup poll asked voters, ¨In general, are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the way things are going in the US at this time?”

61% of Republicans said that they were satisfied with the way things are going in the U.S. This is the party's highest level of satisfaction since February 2007.

7% of Democrats said they were satisfied and 31% of Independents are happy with the direction of the U.S.

Nationally, 29% of Americans are satisfied with the direction of the US, which is on the high end of the 21% to 32% range recorded since Trump became president. 69% are dissatisfied with the direction of the US.

Antifa group proposes 'Law Enforcement Incineration Day'

ASN (the Autonomous Student Network) at the University of Texas at Austin released a statement saying that, “We are dedicated to the complete abolition of all systems of domination and hierarchy. We stand absolutely against white supremacy, settler colonialism, cisheteropatriarchy, ableism, the state, and capitalism as systems which organize violent and hierarchical relationships between social groups. We see the state as integral to all forms of domination. We see police as an extension of this and refuse any negotiation with the cops.”

Now in Paris there was an incident on May Day of 2017, where a police officer was hit with a Molotov cocktail. This is horrible, the man got third degree burns, he was attacked just because he was a police officer. But now, this student group in Austin, Texas, takes the picture of the officer on fire and says, quote:

“Instead of #LawEnforcementAppreciationDay how about #LawEnforcementIncinerationDay,” the groupAutonomous Student Network (ASN)Austin tweeted on January 9, accompanied by a photo of the policeman engulfed in flames.

Now, that's a call to violence. So, what is the University of Texas going to do about it? That's a violent call right there. There is a group run by radio talk show host Dennis Prager, called Prager U. This group champions Judeo-Christian values, believes that Judeo-Christian values made the country strong and prosperous. They are pro-police and they are now involved with this horrible situation in Austin, Texas.

Prager University tweeted a pro-police infographic on January 9 with the caption, “In America, we’re lucky to have the police force we do.” ASN Austin seemed to take particular issue with the infographic. So stay tuned to see what the outcome is.

California Poverty Stats

In California, nearly one out of five residents are poor. That’s according to the Census Bureau’s Supplemental Poverty Measure, which factors in the cost of housing, food, utilities and clothing, and which includes noncash government assistance as a form of income.

California state and local governments spent nearly $958 Billion from 1992 through 2015 on public welfare programs, including cash-assistance payments, vendor payments and “other public welfare,” according to the Census Bureau.

California, with 12% of the American population, is home today to about one in three of the nation’s welfare recipients.

According to the Census Bureau's Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP), 51% of “immigrants” (both legal and illegal), receive means-tested benefits, while only 30% of native Californians receive means-tested benefits

Immigrants both, legal and illegal, have flooded into California, many of them are extremely productive. We all know that. But more than half of the families, immigrant families, receive money from the state for assistance. So that drives the state into bankruptcy and the people don't seem to be rising up. The poverty rate is the same. It hasn't improved since 1992 to any extent which is because of the flood of immigration in there.

This study is the first in recent years to examine immigrant (legal and illegal) and native welfare use using the Census Bureau's Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP).

The SIPP study began in 2008 includes more than 25,000 households over the full calendar year of 2012. (This is the most recent data).

Poll: Oprah Would Beat Trump in California by 24 Points

Oprah 56% versus Trump 32%

Tom Hanks 56% versus Trump 31%

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass) 53% versus Trump 32%

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) 53% versus Trump 33%

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti 46% versus Trump 32%

  • "Great show, Bill. I've listened for many years. You said that Donald Trump should try and unite the country. Personally, I don't think it's possible for any Republican to unite the USA. Try as they might, they can't do it. The press, Democrats, and the left are generally too aggressively against anything the conservative side stands for."
  • "Bill, thank you for your program on Trump and Obama. I agree Barack Obama started the very partisan attitude and now it's out of control. I'm sick of nothing getting done except fighting between the parties. Ridiculous. The American people pay these Senators and Congress people and they don't do their job. They spend their time trying to make the other party look bad."
  • "Bill, I disagree that Trump is president only of his base. His policies have benefited all Americans as evidenced by the lowest unemployment rates for blacks and Hispanics."
