Cynicism in American Politics, Dennis Miller, and O.J. Simpson

Bill is out with a new must-watch No Spin News today, breaking down political cynicism in America, talking to Dennis Miller about dropping out of the political process, breaking down the O.J. Simpson situation, and sharing with the audience a historical document from his collection.

Cynicism in American Politics

Bill began by saying, unlike today’s guest Dennis Miller, Bill has no plans to withdraw from the political process.

Bill said that with the decline of cable news, newspapers, the broadcast networks and even the late-night comedy shows, he wants to provide viewers with an honest assessment of current affairs.

Next, Bill began a discussion about cynicism in politics.

According to Bill, Donald Trump is driving the cynicism on the left. Some liberals don’t believe he deserves to be president, others don’t like how he carries himself or how he Tweets.

But Bill points out President Trump became president by beating the very flawed Hillary Clinton.

“When you throw up the fact that the election was between an un-tested, bombastic man, Donald Trump, and a corrupt Democrat, Hillary Clinton, it kind of changes things, doesn’t it?” Bill asked. “It’s not exactly Trump was running against Dwight Eisenhower. Whether liberals like it or not, Hillary Clinton is corrupt. The facts prove it.”

Bill also said the distrust also comes from other issues like abortion and racial relations.  While Bill is pro-life, he understands some pro-choice arguments. And Bill also freely concedes life is more difficult for most African-Americans compared to whites.

But Bill says there should be no place in mainstream political discourse for individuals who say there should be abortion on demand for any reason. Bill also argued activists who spread Black Lives Matter’s false narrative that police are racist are damaging the political environment.

On the right, the cynicism is driven by political correctness, particularly on college campuses, and the socialist agenda put forth by the Democrats.

Bill puts Barack Obama in the latter category, and argues everything he did was aimed at advancing a quasi-socialistic agenda.

“Obama was un-emotional, passive aggressive,” Bill said. “But his agenda was far left and the economy suffered for it.”

Bill also said the Republican Senators who are holding up the repeal of Obamacare are also contributing to cynicism.

“I’m looking at these Republican Senators like, going what is wrong with you?” Bill said.

Dennis Miller on Dropping Out of the Political Process

Bill then brought Dennis Miller back on the program, where he told the D-man he’s received many letters from Premium Members saying they’ve been inspired by Miller to just completely drop out of the political process.  Bill asked if Dennis felt guilty for that.

Miller said no, and that he hasn’t disengaged from the world, but that he simply tries to ignore the daily updates from Washington as much as possible because they’re so disheartening.

Bill asked if that was the wisest thing Miller could be doing to oppose the madness.

Miller said he votes to show his opposition, and always votes for whom he thinks will do the most to help soldiers.

“How much time am I supposed to invest in a completely insipid, stupid, broke-down system?” Miller asked. “I get to choose that.”

Bill noted that things are dire but that he believes you’ve got to keep fighting to the end.

“The Democratic Party wants to take us into a socialist world. Alright, the Republican Party does not, that’s it,” Bill said. “And right now, the Democrats are winning.”

O.J. Simpson To Be Released From Prison

In major legal news today, the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners granted parole to O.J. Simpson, meaning the disgraced former NFL star will be released from prison after serving nine years for an armed robbery conviction.

Bill didn’t mind the decision because he deemed nine years is enough for Simpson’s crime of robbing two sports memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in a Las Vegas hotel room back in 2007.

Bill noted that with a clean record Simpson might have gotten no jail time, but the prison sentence was karma after being found not guilty of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman back in 1995.

“It’s a karma deal in the sense that the jury and every other American who follows anything knows that O.J. Simpson killed his wife, ex-wife, and her boyfriend,” Bill said.

Bill argued O.J. was found not guilty due to a jury sensitive to the racial issues in Los Angeles in the 90s.

“The jury was race based and they just didn’t want to convict him, so they didn’t,” Bill said. “I believe without any doubt that he was guilty of murder, O.J. Simpson.”

Enjoying Summer

Bill next noted that summer was officially halfway over, and that always made him anxious about going back to school when he was growing up.

Late summer is the best time to visit Europe, according to Bill, because most of the cities are empty, and that America is increasingly becoming like Europe in the way things slow down in August.

Bill also said he was particularly enjoying this summer.

“I’m having a really good summer because I don’t have to go to work every day,” Bill said. “And I didn’t know if I’d like that or not, but I like it (laughs). I’m having fun.”

Bill Shares a Historical Document From his Collection

Bill next shared with the audience a treasured historical document from his personal collection – a July 1944 letter from Dwight Eisenhower to a church in Cleveland.

Just a month after D-Day as the Allies march towards Berlin, Eisenhower wrote that the soldiers were guided in part by Christian principles.

“He’s pinning the motivation of the Allied forces, Americans in particular on a Christian belief system, and it was true,” Bill said. “The Nazis were evil, godless, hedonist. And the Americans and the British and the French and the other Allied forces had a Judeo-Christian philosophy.”

Premium Member Emails

Bill next responded to emails from Premium Members. Here are the highlights.

·      One email asked why Bill doesn’t speculate on the news when so many viewers want to know Bill’s informed thoughts. “My opinions are based on facts,” Bill said. “That makes them powerful, that’s why I won almost every debate I had in 20 years on television, because I had the facts. Once I get into the field of speculation, conjecture, could of, would of, I lose that edge.” In the rare case that Bill does speculate, Bill alerts the audience beforehand about what he’s doing.

·      Bill explains there’s no difference between universal health care and socialize medicine, despite what you hear in the press.

·      Bill blames recent Republican failures, such as the Obamacare repeal effort, on a lack of organization. Bill says the Democrats are far more organized.

·      Bill says President Trump needs a major victory to change the negative narrative put forward by the press.
