Trump is Not Currently a “Criminal Target”

The Washington Post reported Tuesday night that President Donald Trump is a subject of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, but he is not a target of the investigation. The office of Special Counsel Robert Mueller appears to be trying to entice Trump into an interview by assuring his legal team last month that Trump is not a "target". The difference between a “target” and a “subject” is that a “target” is a person as to whom prosecutor or grand jury has substantial evidence linking him or her to commission of a crime. A “subject” of an investigation is a person whose conduct is within the scope of the grand jury’s investigation.

Today, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), said that until all the witnesses have been called there cannot be any real conclusions since one testimony could put Mr. Trump under speculation again. Mr. Gowdy said that if he were to guess who the main criminal suspects were, he would say the Russians, or any who colluded with them.

There have been ongoing discussions between Trump's lawyers and Mueller's team about the president sitting for an interview as part of the investigation. On March 22, Trump was asked whether he still wanted to testify before special counsel Robert Mueller. Trump said, "Yes. I would like to."

The Washington Post story says Mueller told Trump's lawyers he is preparing a report about the president's actions while in office and potential obstruction of justice, and that he needed to interview Trump to complete that phase of his investigation. Mueller has no obligation to submit a written report on any of his findings and it had not previously been known that he intends to write one. There is no assurance that such a report would be provided to Congress or become public.

Trump to Order National Guard to Protect Border with Mexico

President Donald Trump will sign a proclamation on Wednesday ordering the deployment of the National Guard to help protect the border with Mexico, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said.

"The president has directed that the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security work together with our governors to deploy the National Guard to our southwest border to assist the Border Patrol," Nielsen said at a White House briefing.

On Tuesday, Trump proposed sending the military to guard the southern border until his long-promised border wall is built, however he didn’t provide any further details. Tuesday’s statement also did not provide details about when or if the strategy would actually be carried out. Trump's suggestion on Tuesday that he would militarize the southern border also came after reports that he had floated having the Pentagon redirect funding to pay for the wall, a move that would require congressional approval he would be unlikely to receive.

"Until we can have a wall and proper security, we are going to be guarding our border with the military," Trump said at the White House on Tuesday. "That's a big step. We really haven't done that before, or certainly not very much before."

China Announces New Tariffs On 106 US Products

China hit back at the United States on Wednesday with proposed tariffs on $50 billion worth of American goods, in a move likely to stoke fears that the countries’ escalating confrontation could become an all-out trade war.

Moving with unusual speed, Chinese officials outlined plans to make it costlier to import 106 types of American goods into China. The goods being targeted are intended to hit the United States in the farm belt, a major section of President Trump’s political support, but also a major supplier of what China stocks in its supermarkets.

Beijing’s plan to institute new tariffs was announced just hours after the Trump administration detailed its own protections on a similar value of Chinese-made aircraft parts, cars and car parts, televisions, steel and much more. Following a previous round of tit-for-tat tariffs unveiled over the past few days, the new measures have sparked concerns that the dispute could widen further, hurting jobs and growth in both countries.

Trump’s Approval Rating Keeps Rising

The Rasmussen Reports Daily Presidential Tracking poll for Wednesday, April 4, 2018, shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance, while 48% disapprove. This is the President’s best overall job approval rating since April of last year. At this point in President Obama’s presidency he had a 46% job approval rating.

Did Trump Mock A Disabled Reporter?

In November 2015, shortly after a series of coordinated terrorist attacks occurred in Paris, France, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was on the campaign trail in Alabama. Trump referenced the Paris attacks by invoking the 9/11 terrorist attack on New York in 2001, in the process not only repeating the long since debunked claim that crowds of “Arabs” (or “Muslims” or “Palestinians”) were seen in local streets cheering the attack, but claiming that he had personally witnessed the phenomenon

After Trump was widely criticized for attempting to pass off an urban legend as fact, the candidate responded by citing as proof of his claim a September 18, 2001 Washington Post article by reporter Serge Kovaleski that made passing reference to “people who were allegedly seen celebrating the attacks”. When Kovaleski pointed out that there were never any reports (not even unsubstantiated ones) of “thousands” or even “hundreds” of people celebrating the 9/11 attacks in the New York area, as Trump claimed to have witnessed, Trump countered with a retort in which he criticized the journalist for attempting to “back away” from his previous article and seemingly mocked Kovaleski’s physical appearance.

Serge Kovaleski suffers from arthrogryposis, a condition which limits the movement of joints and is particularly noticeable in Kovaleski’s right arm and hand.

After Trump then became the center of a second even bigger controversy for supposedly having callously mocked a disabled reporter in public (that Trump was mocking Kovaleski was undeniable, but whether he was specifically mocking Kovaleski’s appearance and disability was a subject of debate), Trump asserted that the whole thing was just a coincidence — he had no idea who Kovaleski was and thus couldn’t have been aware of his physical condition:

“I have no idea who this reporter, Serge Kovalski, is, what he looks like or his level of intelligence. I don’t know if he is J.J. Watt or Muhammad Ali in his prime or somebody of less athletic or physical ability. Despite having one of the all-time great memories, I certainly do not remember him. I merely mimicked what I thought would be a flustered reporter trying to get out of a statement he made long ago. If Mr. Kovaleski is handicapped, I would not know because I do not know what he looks like. If I did know, I would definitely not say anything about his appearance.”

Eddie Scarry’s Claims about this Story from his Book, “Fraud and Fiction”

“If Trump’s purpose was to physically imitate Kovaleski, anyone watching would have never known it; and not just because no one would even know who Kovaleski is, if the media hadn’t manufactured a controversy in the first place.”

“The media would have everyone believe Kovaleski has Parkinson’s disease or at least Restless Leg Syndrome. As it turns out, the power of the internet allows anyone interested to search “Serge Kovaleski” on YouTube and see videos of the reporter. You’ll notice he doesn’t jerk his arms around, because his mobility is limited. He’s still. A corpse would be doing a more accurate imitation than Trump flailing his arms around.”

“In fact, Trump has used the same effects as he did for Kovaleski when mocking bank executives, Ted Cruz, and responses by former president Obama’s generals to questions about fighting the Islamic State. But you don’t read about those in the national papers or on cable news. You have to find those on YouTube.”

University Event Aims to Combat ‘Christian Privilege’

George Washington University is hosting a training session for students and faculty that teaches that White Christians “receive unmerited perks from institutions and systems all across our country.”

The ‘diversity’ workshop is titled, “Christian Privilege: But Our Founding Fathers Were All Christian, Right?!”

The learning objectives of this event are that participants will be able to describe what is meant by privilege overall and white privilege specifically. Participants will be able to describe the role of denial when it comes to white privilege. Participants will be able to differentiate between equality and equity.

The event will teach that Christians enjoy a privileged, easier life than their non-Christian counterparts, and that Christians possess “built-in advantages” today, according to the event’s online description.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Honored 50 Years After Assassination

Martin Luther King, Jr. was a social activist and Baptist minister who played a key role in the American civil rights movement from the mid-1950s until his assassination in 1968. King sought equality and human rights for African Americans, the economically disadvantaged and all victims of injustice through peaceful protest. He was the driving force behind watershed events such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the 1963 March on Washington, which helped bring about such landmark legislation as the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act. King was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 and is remembered each year on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a U.S. federal holiday since 1986.

  • I had dismal thoughts about our nation's survival, but the huge response to Rosanne's program has sparked a renewal that the far left can be neutralized if we stand up and be counted for America, as founded.
  • Love the show! Do you think one day we could see Holly on? My daughter who also watches would be thrilled.
  • The newspapers, tabloids & media print anything and it is taken as fact.
