Hurting Ben Carson's Campaign
Guest: Karl Rove The Factor began by reporting that the Ted Cruz campaign used an erroneous CNN report that Ben Carson was thought to be dropping out of the GOP race to try to get Carson voters to vote for Cruz instead in Iowa.
"As far as CNN is concerned, it is standing behind its initial report, which is ludicrous. That news agency screwed up big time and apparently doesn't care.
Talking Points has said it many times. The state of American journalism is on the verge of collapse. Ideology has permeated hard news coverage and honest reporting is becoming almost scarce, especially in political circles.
CNN should apologize. Ted Cruz should take some action. And this should never again happen.
The Carson campaign was damaged by erroneous information, period."
Karl Rove agreed with The Factor's analysis, saying Cruz using the erroneous CNN report "cost Carson four votes per precinct to switch to Cruz, then Cruz beats Trump. If he doesn't switch four, then he loses."

Hillary's Email Investigation Update
Guest: Ron Kessler The State Department now says at least 22 emails on Hillary Clinton's private email server she used as secretary of state were "top secret." Ron Kessler, author of many books about the FBI, CIA, and the Secret Service, told The Factor he's spoken so several former Department of Justice officials involved in previous prosecutions for mishandling classified information.
"They say as much as the case can be open and shut, this is an open and shut case because the relevant law, section 793 of the U.S. Criminal Code, simply says handling classified information with gross negligence is a felony," Kessler said. "And by definition, if you put classified on an unsecured server, that is gross negligence."

Ed Henry on Hillary's Campaign
Guest: Ed Henry Ed Henry joined The Factor to report that Hillary Clinton's campaign was in panic mode now that the State Department has confirmed at least 22 emails on her private server contained top secret information.
"What I'm told specifically is that inside the campaign the Brooklyn headquarters and elsewhere there was a full freak-out because this raised the bar big time, number one," Henry said. "And number two, it was confirmed not by Republicans but by the State Department -- the Obama State Department."

President Obama's Mosque Visit
Guests: Monica Crowley & Eboni Williams Monica Crowley opined that Obama's speech at a mosque in Baltimore was a political statement aimed at Donald Trump.
"In that last line when he says when any religious group is targeted, we all have a responsibility to speak up," Crowley said. "OK, I accept that. But hate crimes and threats in America happen with far more frequency against Jews than they do against Muslims. Where is he on that?"
Williams weighed in that it was good for Obama to advocate for religious tolerance, but questioned his choice of speaking at the Islamic Society of Baltimore, which in the past had ties to Islamic extremists.
The Factor didn't have a problem with the choice of venue because the extremism occurred a long time ago.

The Political World with Colin Quinn
Guest: Colin Quinn Comedian Colin Quinn filled in for Dennis Miller and opined on the 2016 race, saying that he didn't think Trump really wanted to be president.
He also weighed in on Hillary.
"I don't think she is looking to be liked by anybody," Quinn said. "I mean, she is just, you know, she is hardened to the -- put it this way, no world leader can charm her or fool her. That's her strength. Do you know what I'm saying? She has dealt with the best.

Anti-Migrant Sentiment in Europe
Guest: Martha MacCallum Martha MacCallum reported on roving gangs in Sweden that were informing migrants they weren't welcomed in the country.
"They wore black masks," MacCallum said. "They were loosely affiliated I guess with soccer teams. They weren't the players but a group of fans or people connected to that got together. They put out a flier that said it's enough now. They were outraged about what happened to this young woman who is a social worker in one of the places that is housing unaccompanied minors. This is just one piece of issues that are going on."

Factor Viewers Sound Off
Joseph Howard, Marion, Ohio: "Shame on the elected members of both parties for making socialism so attractive to young Americans."
Edgar Brambila, Charlotte, North Carolina: "Mr. O, you are misguided. Rubio was not the big winner in Iowa, and Cruz did not win because of the religious vote."
Darlene Bultemeir, Princeville, Illinois: "I trust the O'Reilly Factor but believe Fox News has changed. It is clear it favors Jeb Bush and bashes Trump every chance it gets."
Scott Bandy, Greer, South Carolina: "It's a shame Fox News has become a Rubio lapdog."
Donald Fields, Reynoldsburg, Ohio: "Just finished Killing Reagan and loved it. Nancy Reagan comes off cold at first, but I had tears in my eyes at the end when she lost her husband."

Megadeth!!!!!
A hard rock guy named Dave Mustaine who used to be in Metallica and is now in the group Megadeth is apparently a big Factor fan.
Mr. Mustaine tweeted out pictures of all the Killing books that he has read, and very politely asked me to listen to Megadeth's new album "Dystopia."
Now I have to say I'm an R&B guy, not heavy metal or hard rock. However I keep an open mind on these things and some members of my staff are big Megadeth fans.
So we wish Mr. Mustaine much success with his new album and admire his promotional abilities
