Will Violence Mar the Presidential Race?
"We have already seen some violence at Trump rallies spurred on by anti-Trump protesters and exacerbated by some over-reacting Trump supporters. It was a disgusting display in a republic dependent on freedom of political expression. Now we are seeing the same thing involving Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. Last weekend in Las Vegas some Sanders supporters vented their anger against establishment Democrats, saying the primary system is rigged. Sanders supporters were furious that some folks supporting their candidate were disqualified due to clerical errors. The chair of the Nevada State Democratic Party believes she is in actual danger, and indeed she was verbally assaulted via vile voice mails. Talking Points believes that far too many Americans are hateful when it comes to politics. I see it every day on both sides and it is depressing. Dissent is fine, disenchantment can be positive. I deliver stinging political critiques every day on this program, but I do not hate anyone and try to deal with people in power in a very precise way that is fact-based. The truth is that Trump is not evil, nor is Hillary Clinton nor Bernie Sanders nor Barack Obama. Misguided maybe, depending on your point of view, but not deserving of hate. The Factor will spotlight the haters and hold them to account. Of course the worst part of all this hate is the effect it will have on American children. It will be terrible."

Fox News analyst and loyal Democrat Kirsten Powers scrutinized the chaos within her party. "I'm surprised there was violence," she began, "and I'm surprised by some of the voice mails. But I'm not surprised that people are angry because they feel the system is rigged and they feel that Bernie Sanders has been treated unfairly by the Democratic Party. The DNC has made it very clear that they've been behind Hillary Clinton from the start." Powers also defended Bernie Sanders against accusations that he would turn the USA into another failed socialist state like Venezuela. "He supports democratic socialism and he has said it's more like a Norway or a Sweden, it's not the countries that you always bring up. Bernie Sanders doesn't want the government to run private industry." But The Factor maintained, "Bernie Sanders is closer to Fidel Castro than he is to you."
Comparing Candidates with Christ
A new poll shows that Americans believe that, of the remaining candidates, Bernie Sanders' philosophy is most closely aligned with that of Jesus. The Factor asked Monica Crowley and Eboni Williams to opine. "Jesus was a transcendent figure," Crowley said, "and you can't assign modern political philosophy to him. He did not believe in government coercion to redistribute wealth, he believed in private charity and people taking care of each other." Williams attempted to rationalize why so many Americans are drawn to socialism. "A lot of people think the teachings of Jesus Christ were about the well-being of the collective being more important than the individual. People feel there is a moral issue around economics, with so many people having so little and so few having a lot." The Factor summarized, "Bernie wants to take, he feels he should have the authority to take from us, while Jesus wanted you to give."
Can Trump Win Over Women?
A pro-Clinton group has created a scathing ad that shows women mouthing some of Donald Trump's most insulting comments. But will the anti-woman theme stick? The Factor posed that question to political reporters Emily Shire and Mollie Hemingway. "Donald Trump has provided plenty of evidence about his misogyny," Shire said. "The comments are all fair game, but I don't think it's an effective ad. He puts his own evidence forward and there's no need for an ad to focus on it." Hemingway contended that the left-leaning media will eagerly join the anti-Trump chorus. "Isn't it interesting that the media have been hitting the very same theme at the same time? But if you have one name associated with bad treatment of women in politics, that name is Clinton. It's a disaster bringing Bill Clinton back into the White House."
Candidates and Their Bank Accounts
Donald Trump has released documents showing that he made more than $550-million last year, while Hillary Clinton made $6-million from speaking fees and book royalties. Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders has asked for more time to produce his own financial statements. Investigative reporter Dave Leventhal assessed the situation. "By U.S. Senate standards," he said, "Bernie Sanders is dirt poor and he even has credit card debt. But there's a big question mark as to what he has been doing over the past year with his own finances." Leventhal theorized that most Americans won't vote based on a candidate's personal finances. "Donald Trump waves his wealth around and says he's a successful billionaire, while Hillary Clinton tries to do everything she can to relate to the middle class. But it's hard to do that when you are a multi-millionaire with very strong ties to Wall Street."
Campus Questions on Men/Women
According to what now passes for progressive thought on some college campuses, men and women are pretty much the same. Dennis Miller provided his inimitable take on the gender question. "These kids couldn't see the forest for the lack of a tree," he quipped. "Are they kidding me? These kids aren't stupid, they're brainwashed a little bit and they're afraid. If you say anything on a college campus these days you're going to be ostracized. They can't even listen to 'Smokin' in the Boys Room,' it's gotta be 'Smokin' in the Trans Room.' If you're going to give guys a reason to show up one day and say they feel like women and they want to go into the girls' locker room, it ain't going to be pretty." Revisiting last week's debate about the difference between buffalo and bison, Miller offered this gem: "I did read this week that bison and buffalo can now use the same bathroom."
Millennials & Hillary Clinton
Martha MacCallum screened video of young women admitting that they have felt pressure to support Hillary Clinton. She elaborated on the footage and its source. "Campus Reform is a group that investigates bias on college campuses," MacCallum said, "and they interviewed young women. The women were saying they don't really care if Hillary Clinton is a man or a woman and they don't understand why they're being pressured to support her. The issue of trust seems more important to them and they feel the game is rigged. This backs up exit polls that we see every week, with young women supporting Bernie Sanders."

Factor Words of the Day
Arturo Diaz, Oxnard, CA: "Bill, in Talking Points you stated you do not know how Trump treats women in general. Seriously? Maybe you should talk with Megyn Kelly."

Mo Wynn, Mt. Pleasant, SC: "O'Reilly, you questioned whether a feminist reporter could cover Trump fairly. Yet, Katie Pavlich has relentlessly bashed Trump. How can she give an honest opinion?"

Rick MacDonald, Raynham, MA: "The TSA now stands for 'Thousands Standing Around."
