ObamaCare and Socialism
Guest: Austan Goolsbee
"A federal court ruled Tuesday that the feds cannot provide health care insurance subsidies because the ObamaCare law prohibits it. That ruling was almost immediately countered by another court, but there is no question that ObamaCare is headed back to the Supreme Court because it's so chaotic. The pinheads in Congress passed ObamaCare and didn't know what was in it; even President Obama didn't know what was in the bill. The overriding issue here is the use of taxpayer dollars. ObamaCare is a pure income redistribution play - President Obama and the Democratic Party want to put as much money into the hands of the poor and less affluent as they can, and the health care subsidies are a great way to do that. Income redistribution is a hallmark of socialism and we in America are now moving in that direction, which has angered the Republican Party and many conservatives. But Republicans have not been able to convince the majority of Americans that income redistribution is harmful. If the entitlement culture expands, businesses contract so there are fewer jobs, and the massive federal debt rises, diminishing the value of the dollar. But many Americans have no clue about what I just said, and enough of them want free stuff so they continue to elect pro-entitlement politicians. So ObamaCare is much more than providing medical assets to the poor, it's about capitalism vs. socialism. But now, because the law is so nebulous, the Supreme Court will once again get the chance to weigh in, perhaps this time dooming the law forever."

For a dissenting point of view, The Factor welcomed former Obama economic adviser Austan Goolsbee. "This is not socialism versus capitalism," Goolsbee asserted. "Everyone has to buy insurance, and all this does is try to keep it so that the most people have to pay is 10% of their income. That's the same sense of redistribution which exists in Medicare." Goolsbee conceded that the law is poorly written, but predicted it will be upheld by the Supreme Court. "Conservatives are always talking about 'original intent,' and it's obvious that the original intent of this law was not to prevent subsidies in the states." The Factor disagreed, and described ObamaCare as "the biggest income redistribution project in the history of the nation."
Presidential Travel
Guest: Ed Henry
Despite growing criticism, President Obama continues to fly around the country to attend fundraisers. FNC White House correspondent Ed Henry analyzed the president's unique frequent flyer program. "He is basically a lame duck," Henry began, "so he is caring less and less about this criticism. This week there are five workdays and on three of them he's raising money. All presidents raise money, but with all these crises, the optics are horrible for him." Henry added that President Obama is hitting up donors to help Democrats retain their majority in the Senate. "If he loses control of the Senate, he's going to be done if he no longer has Harry Reid pushing his agenda." The Factor objected to the fact that taxpayers are picking up the tab for the these trips: "All fundraising trips should be paid for by the party, it's unfair for a president to spend the majority of his time fundraising for his party while all Americans pay."
Handling Russia
Guest: Bob Beckel
Pro-Russian separatists, most likely armed by Vladimir Putin, are believed to have shot down the Malaysia Airlines passenger plane last week. The Factor asked FNC's Bob Beckel what the USA should do about the crash site and ongoing investigation. "You need to secure this site," Beckel said, "but the United States should not do it unilaterally. It's not worth us going in there and take the chance of losing American troops." Beckel also urged stronger economic sanctions against Russia. "Putin is a rat but he's vastly overestimated. The United States has done some limited sanctions, but the Europeans are aiding and abetting Putin. If the Europeans had the guts to cut off oil and gas from Russia, that would choke this guy economically." The Factor gave Beckel a jocular and backhanded compliment, saying "You made a little bit of sense today."
Planned Parenthood Controversy
Guest: Lila Rose
A Planned Parenthood office in Oregon was caught on hidden camera advising a young woman, who claimed to be 15 years old, about bondage and other sexual practices. The Factor welcomed Lila Rose, whose organization conducted the undercover sting. "This is the fourth facility where we have exposed this with underage girls," she said, "and there are more to come showing Planned Parenthood and their very destructive, dangerous sex counseling. They are telling underage girls to access sex shops, and they also don't report sexual abuse." The Factor noted that Planned Parenthood relies on taxpayer money and concluded, "This was a totally inappropriate conversation and I think any sane person would know that."
The D-Man Spouts Off
Guest: Dennis Miller
The Factor was joined by a fully-wired Dennis Miller, who opined on President Obama's vacation in Martha's Vineyard. "I say he should take more vacations," Miller declared. "I have enough problems with Barack Obama that I don't have to start faking them. It has nothing to do with his being black, that's the only thing I still like about him. It's the rest of him that's crap! Take more vacations." Miller also let loose on Americans' ignorance about foreign affairs. "A lot of kids have been raised in a system where when you say the 'Middle East' they think you mean Ohio. They're stupid enough that they're willing to step up to a microphone with Jesse Watters and cop to being stupid. If you're going to explain the Arabs and the Jews to them, you'd better tell them it's like Biggie and Tupac, they don't get along over issues of respect. The world has gone nuts and we're in the flume."
Chicago Violence
Guest: Martha MacCallum
Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum entered the No Spin Zone to assess the continuing violence in Chicago. "Four people were killed last weekend," she lamented, "and one of them was an 11-year-old child who was inside a house at a sleepover party. This problem is out of control and I think the president has missed an opportunity to act when it comes to African Americans. Mayor Rahm Emanuel has cut back the police force and they've done nothing to lift the gun ban that has been in place since 1980." The Factor excoriated the mayor and police bigs: "If the city of Chicago can't control the violence on the South Side, the governor of Illinois should send in the National Guard to patrol these neighborhoods."

Factor Words of the Day
Jim Voorhees, Vancouver, WA: "In 1940, with Hitler on the march, the draft passed Congress by just one vote. We almost did not have fighting capacity. People have always been unaware."

Ramon Irias, Honduras: "Mr. O'Reilly, I am ashamed of my country's corruption, but I also think the only difference between those kids at the border and your folks coming from Ireland is the timeline."

Joanne Burgess, Rancho Viejo, TX: "Born on the Mexican border near McAllen, I know there has never been 'border security.' I am tired of the left saying we are a nation of immigrants. What we are seeing now is a welfare state."
