Tuesday: Trump vs Clinton Sizzles Into Summer
The Clinton-Trump Race Intensifies
Guests: Juan Williams & Lisa Boothe

Talking Points began by highlighting Hillary Clinton's speech Tuesday in which she attacked Trump's business record. The Factor noted that Clinton's speech was strong and included many specifics. Clinton also has been leading in recent polls, but Talking Points argued that Trump was still within striking distance despite his recent struggles.

The Factor said ultimately that it would be which candidate who performs better in the first presidential debate who will go on to win the White House.

"The big event will be the first presidential debate on September 26th in Dayton, Ohio," The Factor said. "Whoever wins that debate is likely to be president, especially if they win it decisively."

Juan Williams and Lisa Boothe joined The Factor for reaction.

Williams noted Trump was in a tough spot because only 22% of Americans have not made up their minds in this election, and that Hillary Clinton's campaign had about $40 million more in the bank than Trump's did.

Lisa Boothe countered that Hillary Clinton was not a popular candidate and needed over $200 million "to defeat one man, a 74-year-old socialist" named Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary.
The Left Using Misleading Stats About Terror
Guest: Kirsten Powers

CNN's Van Jones went on television this week with some highly misleading statistics about terrorism from "right-wing" extremists. The Factor revealed to the viewer the correct statistics, which show, excluding 9/11, 94 people have been killed on U.S. soil due to jihadist attacks compared to 48 deaths from far-right attacks.

"People on the left tend to look at these attacks and don't immediately go to saying that this is Islamic terrorism," Kirsten Powers said. Powers said the left tends to look first at whether the shooter was mentally ill, or in the case of Orlando, if the killer was a self-hating homosexual before they consider Islam's role.

"The left so desperately wants to avoid the truth that the Islamic jihad is bent on killing as many Americans as possible," The Factor said.
Media Favoring Clinton?
Guest: Bernie Goldberg

A new study by the conservative Media Research Center says that so far in the campaign 432 minutes were devoted to Trump controversies by the network evening newscasts compared to just 105 minutes that were spent on Hillary Clinton's controversies, including the big email investigation.

Bernie Goldberg argued that these numbers were more about the influence of Trump on the media rather than any sort of favorable coverage for Hillary.

"This isn't necessarily evidence of liberal media bias," Goldberg said. It's "evidence every time Trump opens his mouth he creates a controversy."
Are We Destined for Stricter Gun Laws?
Guests: David Webb & Mike Gallagher

A new CBS news poll is not good news for the pro-gun people. When asked, "do you favor stricter laws on guns?" Fifty-seven percent of Americans say yes, 11% say they want more lenient laws and 29% want the laws kept as they are.

The poll also found 89% of Americans favor federal background checks on all gun buyers and 57% favor a ban on assault weapons.

Despite these numbers, both David Webb and Mike Gallagher said they opposed a federal gun registry.

"The Congress as our representatives should uphold the Constitution, not always a popular response," Webb said.
Big Decisions from SCOTUS
Guests: Kimberly Guilfoyle & Lis Wiehl

There are three big Supreme Court cases set to be decided next week: whether Obama's executive actions deferring deportation for four million illegal aliens are Constitutional; whether a Texas law that requires abortion doctors to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of the abortion clinic violates the 14th Amendment; and whether the University of Texas at Austin's affirmative action admissions policy is constitutional.

Both Lis and Kimberly thought the Obama executive action case would result in a 4-4 tie at the Supreme Court, meaning it'd get sent back to the lower courts where there won't be a decision until after Obama leaves office.

The legal ladies also thought Texas' abortion law would be struck down, and that the justices would find the University of Texas' admissions policy unconstitutional.
Presidential Candidates & Pot
Guests: Greg Gutfeld & Bernard McGuirk

Libertarian Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson admitted on television that he sometimes consumes edible marijuana.

Greg Gutfled joked that it might not be a be a bad thing to have a pot head as president, saying he'd be "too relaxed to expand government."

The boys next discussed whether white privilege existed in America. McGuirk said it was a privilege just to be an American.

"You hit the lottery so big time when you're born in this country, no matter what class," McGuirk said.

The Factor also revealed a BillOReilly.com poll that found 73% believed Gutfeld and McGuirk should get raises.

The Factor promptly gave them both one-dollar bills and said, "Get them out of here."
