A very bad weekend for Barack Obama
The Factor delayed the Talking Points Memo and began with Barack Obama's contention that many small-town Americans 'cling to guns or religion.' Fox News analyst Juan Williams assessed the political damage to Obama: "Hillary Clinton's folks are making the argument, how can you expect Barack Obama to win the general election if he is putting down working-class white people and religion? The Clinton campaign is telling the superdelegates they're setting themselves up for another Michael Dukakis or John Kerry." Political observer Kinky Friedman suggested that Obama's comments are extremely revealing. "We might be seeing a glimpse into the measure of the man, and he may have a bias about the common man. This is a big problem for Obama, but at least he didn't say anything bad about pickup trucks."

Rev. Jeremiah Wright surfaces... yet again
At a funeral service for Chicago Judge Eugene Pincham, Jeremiah Wright gave a eulogy in which he denounced Fox News, Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity. Attorney Steven Greenberg, who was at the funeral, accused Wright of grandstanding. "Reverend Wright took advantage of his time on the pulpit to expand his fifteen minutes of fame. The judge was about including people, and I don't think he would have appreciated what Reverend Wright did." But professor Marc Lamont Hill defended Wright and his earlier sermons. "He's saying he loves America enough," Hill claimed, "to tell the truth about it. He said America's chickens have come home to roost because of a problematic foreign policy, and he was advocating global peace by saying when you put out violence, violence comes back." The Factor contended that Wright continues to harm Obama's candidacy. "I think we all agree that every time Reverend Wright shows up, it's not a good day for Barack Obama."

Factor Investigation Segment
Polygamist cult raided, two arrested
Factor producer Porter Berry, who is in Texas investigating the polygamist sect that was raided last week, reported his findings. "What was happening here," Berry said, "is that girls were forced to go in and have sex with a 50-year old man. Sources tell us there are as many as 20 girls between 13 and 16 who are pregnant and are now with protective services. There was clearly a big problem." The Factor vehemently denounced the sect and its leaders. "When children this young are distributed to other men, then you have a sexual slavery situation. This is a place that is walled off from authorities where men could do anything they wanted. Those children are powerless and penned in, and we've got to stop this in America."

Personal Story Segment
Marina, YouTube and vocabulary words
On one of the Internet's most popular sites, a Russian-born woman known simply as Marina blends coquettish sexuality with vocabulary lessons. Marina entered the No Spin Zone and explained what her HotForWords.com is all about. "People request a word, I do my research and report on it. The magic of it is that they look at me and they also learn something at the end of the day." The Factor asked the comely philologist for the origin of a few words, beginning with "blooter." "It's a foolish person," she explained, "and it comes from the Latin word 'blatterata,' which means to babble." Marina on "popinjay:" "It comes from an old French and Persian word for parrot, someone who can talk all day long. I actually found that you are the one who is responsible for bringing back this word." And here's Marina on the adjective "Pecksniffian:" "There was a character named Pecksniff in a Charles Dickens novel who was a very mean person, but who would walk around and tell people he was full of high morals." The Factor complimented Marina for being the very antithesis of a blooter or popinjay.

Talking Points Memo
Iran, General Electric & the New York Times
"The New York Times and I agree on Iran - the paper called for tougher sanctions against the Iranians and hammered the countries that are soft on those killers. As General Petraeus clearly stated, Iran is directly responsible for killing and maiming thousands of American troops. But General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt does not seem to care about the damage Iran is doing to America and the world. He has allowed GE to do business with Iran for years. As you may know, GE is failing badly. When Immelt took over in 2001, the stock price stood at $39.66; today it closed at $31.75, so GE stockholders have actually lost big money. And Immelt receives more than $20 million a year in compensation. But far worse is the Iran deal - if my child were killed in Iraq, I would blame the likes of Jeffrey Immelt. There are more than a few villain CEOs in this country, but Jeffrey Immelt could well be the worst."

The Factor followed up Talking Points with foreign affairs analyst Ilan Berman, who also criticized Immelt and his conglomerate. "GE is one of the largest companies in the world and they have to lead by example," Berman declared." Iran is getting a much-needed financial shot in the arm from foreign investment, and we should not be in the business of allowing Iran to move ahead with its nuclear ambitions and kill American and coalition forces." Investment manager Charles Neul turned to GE's bottom line. "GE has performed badly under Mr. Immelt's reign, it's lost about 2? % a year under Immelt's reign. I don't hold the stock in my portfolio, but it's more like mediocrity than absolute failure." The Factor added that Immelt seems to be a teflon CEO. "I haven't heard much criticism of Immelt, who couldn't have done a worse job. It is amazing on both a business level and a moral level."

Body language: Jimmy Kimmel & Simon Cowell
Tonya Reiman began her analysis with Barack Obama's attempt to clarify his comments about guns and religion. "The way he's using his hands," Reiman noticed, "is to prove his point. He's leaning forward, which is also his way of getting his point across." Reiman described Obama as "smug and sarcastic" when he took the offensive against Hillary Clinton. Reiman also analyzed comedian Jimmy Kimmel as he insulted Simon Cowell, the acerbic American Idol judge who was in the audience. "Cowell was not smiling genuinely there," Reiman pointed out. "He made a jaw movement that was a sign of sheer annoyance."
Pinheads and Patriots
Randy Levine & Dr. Phil
Monday's Patriot: New York Yankees president Randy Levine, who is donating to charity the jersey a Boston Red Sox fan tried to bury beneath the new Yankee Stadium. And the Pinhead: Dr. Phil, whose underlings helped bail out the Florida girls who attacked their classmate. Nominate a Pinhead or a Patriot by sending an email to pnp@billoreilly.com.
