Talking Points Memo
Harry Reid Kills Kate's Law
"In a shocking move today in the Senate, Democrat Harry Reid refused to allow a vote on Kate's Law. The majority of Americans support this bill because it is the right and moral thing to do. Senator Ted Cruz, a hero on Kate's Law, again introduced a stand-alone bill in the Senate. But in order for a vote to take place there could be no objection by other senators. Quickly, Harry Reid objected, calling the law 'yet another attack on the immigrant community.' Mr. Reid is a liar and a villain. This has nothing to do with the immigrant community, this is about fixing a corrupt criminal situation. Reid understands that violent foreign thugs defy deportation all the time, but he does not care and has shamed himself and insulted the family of Kate Steinle. Reid does not want the bill to get to the president's desk because Mr. Obama does not want to sign Kate's Law. If the president did want to sign it, he would say so and Reid would never go against him. So we call upon President Obama to issue an executive order mandating that Kate's Law take effect. If you care at all about justice, Mr. President, you will get Kate's Law done. Senator Majority Leader Mitch McConnell tells us that he will put Kate's Law up for a vote shortly. The country needs just six Democrat senators to support the law if all the Republicans support it. A personal note to you, Senator Reid: If you think this is over, you're nuts. We will hold you accountable."

Hispanics Protest Trump
Some prominent Hispanics are strenuously objecting to Donald Trump hosting this week's Saturday Night Live. The Factor pursued the protest with Jennice Fuentes and Ruben Navarrette. "No one has launched a presidential campaign with such a racist and hateful message," Fuentes declared. "Donald Trump said Mexico is sending us rapists, drug dealers, and criminals. But he has become popular to the networks, including Fox, because he's good for ratings." But Navarrette contended that his fellow Hispanics are making too big a deal out of this. "I'm not here to defend Donald Trump, who is a divisive figure. But Latinos should not think this is the biggest priority in America, I can give them a list of other things." The Factor reminded Fuentes, "Saturday Night Live puts controversial people on all the time, they are a provocative and satirical program."
Impact Segment
Hillary's Email Scandal
FNC's Monica Crowley joined The Factor to reveal that two anonymous sources have provided her damning information about Hillary Clinton's email situation. "At least 671 emails that Mrs. Clinton sent or received through her private server contained classified material," Crowley reported. "Two of those documents reach the highest level of 'top secret,' and one document includes satellite data about North Korea's nuclear weapons program. I am told that document is an open-and-shut violation, and I am also told that the FBI already has enough information to build a case against her on obstruction and the gross mishandling of classified data." Attorney Eboni Williams added that the Justice Department will eventually decide whether or not to prosecute. "This will be up to Attorney General Loretta Lynch. She is not Eric Holder, she is a woman of law and order. But she is ethically obligated to only move forward to a trial that she feels she can prosecute successfully."
Personal Story
New Presidential Poll
According to a Quinnipiac poll, Ben Carson and most other Republican candidates would defeat Hillary Clinton in a head-to-head matchup if it were held today, although Donald Trump would lose by a few points. FNC's Ed Henry analyzed the results. "This is the year of the outsider," he surmised, "and Hillary Clinton is the ultimate insider. She tried to run on her resume in 2008 but the country is not rewarding experience. The message is, 'give us someone different,' and over 60% of Americans say she is not honest and trustworthy." Nevertheless, The Factor warned any prospective Republican rival to expect a tough and bitter fight: "The Clinton machine is formidable, they are tough and some of them are vicious."
Unresolved Problems
Troubling Statistic about Incarcerated Parents
Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro joined The Factor to discuss a disturbing stat showing that one in every fourteen American children has at least one parent behind bars. For black children that figure is one in nine. "This doesn't surprise me at all," she said. "With the number of people in jail up, the number of children with a parent in jail is going to go up as well. The consequences for the child are the same whether a parent is in jail or absent - depression, anxiety, poor physical and mental health. And these kids were already in a bad spot because they're from the poor and black neighborhoods." The Factor added that many of the imprisoned parents are hardened criminals, saying, "Prisoners don't go to jail for just committing one crime, they often commit hundreds of crimes before the system catches up with them."
Miller Time
Liberal Bias on Campus
The Factor turned Dennis Miller loose on a new study listing some of the craziest courses offered by U.S. colleges. One example is the Stanford University course with this anti-cop title: 'History of the Police in the United States: Slave Patrols to Ferguson.' "Ferguson as a story of racial bullying by a cop has been disproved," Miller pronounced. "There was a DOJ report and the clip of the guy slapping the storekeeper around." Miller also opined on the general insanity that rules academia. "Jesus Christ could appear on a campus tomorrow and change water into wine. The students would go after him for killing the microorganisms in the water, that's how whacked things are.
Back of the Book
Backlash Against Question Tarantino
Director Quentin Tarantino, who denounced some cops as "murderers," is facing a boycott by police across America. The Factor asked reporters Paul Bond and Kim Serafin whether Tarantino has damaged his career. "He is no stranger to controversy," Serafin said, "which has followed him throughout so many of his movies. He's always involved in controversy and it never seems to affect him." But Bond contended that this time Tarantino will pay a steep price. "People want to strike back. He hates them, they want to hate him back, and this may be the biggest organized boycott in Hollywood history. What he said really touched a nerve for cops."

Viewers Sound Off
Steve Smith, Draper, NC: "O'Reilly, why do you even have guests? You force your opinion on everyone. The whole show should be Talking Points."

Ron Moebuis, Westminster, MD: "So Charlie Brown doesn't have a black girlfriend. Big deal! Fat Albert never had a white girlfriend."

Stuart Johnston, Carrollton, TX: "Charlie Brown's love interest is a redhead. Orange is the new black. Diversity problem solved."

Karen Kraft, Calabasas, CA: "Those complaining about Charlie Brown's lack of social diversity must be suffering from Peanuts envy!"
Tip of the Day
Stay Sober, My Friends
Voters in Ohio overwhelmingly rejected a bill that would have legalized marijuana use. That's a good thing because the more sobriety in any society, the stronger that society will be.
