O'REILLY When you look back at what you've accomplished, was there anything that you did in your career that you would not do again?

PALMINTERI I gotta tell you, Bill, you ask great questions.

O'REILLY Thank you.

PALMINTERI You do. And I've been interviewed thousands of times. Is there anything that I did that I would not do again? I remember when I, it was a stupid thing. When I wrote Bronx Tale in the very beginning, the first time I wrote it, and I started doing it, I used everybody's real name that was real. And then I got a phone call, I remember, that they heard that I was using these names. It's not a big thing, but they were like pretty upset by it. And they said, you have to change the names.

O'REILLY And you did?

PALMINTERI Immediately.

O'REILLY You did?

PALMINTERI I did. No, immediately.

O'REILLY Oh, okay.

PALMINTERI I changed him immediately. Immediately. And then they said, cool.

O'REILLY See, my view of you, and I don't know you that well, but we've been at Yankee games together and I couldn't have gotten closer to the stage for A Bronx Tale if I tried. I was just right there, because I wanted to see how Palminteri carried this one man show off. Because one man show...

PALMINTERI Toughest thing in the world.

O'REILLY Oh!

PALMINTERI Toughest.

O'REILLY Because you have to overlook every distraction, any cell phone that rings or anything.

PALMINTERI There's no there's no break you have to...if you're...

O'REILLY Locked in.

PALMINTERI You have to be locked in. If you're off for 10 seconds, the audience goes off.

O'REILLY And so I'm watching every everything, and that's what I always do for people who are successful. I know that you're a fair man, that your whole philosophy is based on fairness. You don't have any malice. You don't have that reputation in business. I wanted to get guys to say bad things about you. Shirripa almost punched me. He wouldn't say anything bad about you, nobody says anything bad about you because you're fair.

PALMINTERI I'm fair.

O'REILLY And that came from your parents and the neighborhood. I mean, that's what the code was. We get back, we started the interview with the code. The code was, you don't kick a guy literally when he's down.

PALMINTERI No.

O'REILLY You don't keep somebody in the head when somebody's laying on the ground.

PALMINTERI Right.

O'REILLY That code is gone now.

PALMINTERI Fairness means a lot to me. Be fair. You know, I don't want things for free because I'm a celebrity. Just be fair. Just don't rip me off. That's all I'm asking.

O'REILLY Or anybody else.

PALMINTERI Or anybody else. I don't like that. Somebody who lies and cheats. And again, I had a guy that worked for me for years once and I treated him great. I treated fantastic. His family, I bought his family things. I could bend over backwards, my wife and I. And then I found out he forged a check of mine. And I was like, well, why would you do that?

O'REILLY Did you ask him?

PALMINTERI Yeah.

O'REILLY What did he say?

PALMINTERI He said he didn't do it, but I know he did.

O'REILLY So to the end, he...

PALMINTERI He just wouldn't cop to it. He wouldn't cop to it and I fired him.

O'REILLY Okay.

PALMINTERI But I couldn't understand why someone would do that, you know?

O'REILLY Right.

PALMINTERI It kind of hurt me. It took me like a little bit to get over that.

O'REILLY You never get over it, really.

PALMINTERI No, because it made me...

O'REILLY It's a matter of trust. It violated your trust.

PALMINTERI Violated my trust. All he had to do was ask me for the money.

O'REILLY Yeah, you would have given it to him.

PALMINTERI I would have give it to them. That's what I didn't understand. I still don't. I think about it and I go, why would he risk that, knowing how good I was to the family? I don't get it.

O'REILLY You know, the New York scene, you still live here a lot of it. I don't, I don't see you in Hollywood. No, do you ever live out there?

PALMINTERI Yeah, I did live in Hollywood. I did lived there from '86 to '91, maybe five years.

O'REILLY Yeah.

PALMINTERI I liked it.

O'REILLY Yeah. Out there in your black shirt on the Santa Monica Pier?

PALMINTERI Yeah. Well, you know what, I have to tell you, Bill, back then it was a lot nicer than it is now. It's 30 years ago, it was great, the weather was great. I came back because we were going to have children and my wife wanted to be close to her mother and I was coming back to do Bronx Tale with Robert De Niro and I said, okay, it's a good time to go back. That's why we went back.

O'REILLY But you are ingrained New Yorker, right?

PALMINTERI Yeah, I'm in New Yorker, yeah.

O'REILLY Because there's a fleet of guys around New York, Buscemi, you mentioned.

PALMINTERI Yeah.

O'REILLY Okay. Shirripa.

PALMINTERI Shirripa.

O'REILLY These are guys that there's old school guys.

PALMINTERI Oh yeah, those are the guys, you know, there's Bob De Niro, there's Joe Pesci, there is Chris Walken, Harvey Keitel, all of us, we're New Yorkers, yes.

O'REILLY But you're all crazy. Do you ever think about that? You're all insane.

PALMINTERI Yes. I think you have to be a little off to do that. I mean, nobody wants to pay $400 or $500 a ticket to see a normal person on Broadway. They want to see somebody who's different.

O'REILLY Volatile. You could do anything at any time.

PALMINTERI Anything. That's what it makes a great actor.

O'REILLY And that's would that when I had dinner with Pacino, that's when you got off him.

PALMINTERI Yeah.

O'REILLY I didn't know whether I was gonna get Attica and on a table, or he was gonna do this and I had done it with Warren Beatty now I'm dropping names all over the place.

PALMINTERI That's all right.

O'REILLY But it was opposite It was opposite. Yeah. It was Opposite and you could see it. Okay So he got, you know, one icon, Pacino, who, no idea, and believe me, I grilled him about the Godfather. And then I talked politics with Beatty, a very left-wing guy. But I knew Beatty was under control, that he wasn't going to mess up a salad no matter what. With Pacino I might have got the salad on me. And that's the difference between New York which is all emotion, and LA, which is all calculation.

PALMINTERI Boy, do I got a story to tell you about that, but I won't say it on the...

O'REILLY Oh, come on.

PALMINTERI Nah, nah.

O'REILLY You don't even have to use the right name. I'll know it.

PALMINTERI Ah, no, yeah, well, he passed away. I did a movie where I wrote, and I hired a director myself, but I hired him with Bob, and we did the movie. And we had a tough time, very tough time with the director. And he just was so headstrong. He wouldn't listen, he wouldn't take my advice, he wouldn't take De Niro's advice. A great director. I mean, great director. Academy Award-winning director.

O'REILLY This isn't a Bronx Tale, is it?

PALMINTERI Oh, no, no.

O'REILLY It's another movie.

PALMINTERI This is another movie I wrote. And in the end, the movie came out, and it did okay. It's doing well now. Now people really like it. But at the time, it didn't do that well.

O'REILLY Come on, tell me the name of the movie, you can do that.

PALMINTERI Well, the move was Faithful.

O'REILLY Faithful?

PALMINTERI Faithful, F-A-I-T-H-F-U-L, Faithful.

O'REILLY Okay, and the guy's dead now?

PALMINTERI The director, yes. And a great director, let me say that for the record, a great director. And I was at a party, and I don't know if this is bad, but I know when you told me the story, I went, damn Bill, you're so on the money. And Warren Beatty came over to me, because Warren was a very good friend of his. And he said, hey, hey Chazz, how you doing? I said, Hey Warren, how are you doing, we start talking. And he says, what ever happened with your movie? How did that all happen? Because he knew there was trouble on the set. So I told him, and he looked at me and he went, thanks.

O'REILLY That was it.

PALMINTERI That was it.

O'REILLY Right.

PALMINTERI And I was just like, damn. That was calculated. And I don't know Warren, I hear he's a great guy. But the man just looked at me, got the info and went...

O'REILLY That's it.

PALMINTERI Thanks.

O'REILLY Right.

PALMINTERI All right. I have my answer, boom. But I was like...

O'REILLY They're compartmentalized out there and I'm generalizing now.

PALMINTERI And I was, like, gee, Warren.

O'REILLY So there is a huge difference. It's like the L.A. Dodgers and the Yankees.

PALMINTERI Yeah.

O'REILLY Okay, so Dodgers are mercenaries, they're out there. They come to the games.

PALMINTERI Yeah.

O'REILLY They so what they do. The Yankees have got a... They're looking back at Mickey Manil. They're looking back at Joe DiMaggio. Dodgers ain't lookin' at anybody but the nice-lookin' woman in the third row, okay? It's a big, big gulf that people don't understand.

PALMINTERI People yeah, I'll never forget that it was like... And I wanted to talk to you about Korea. I couldn't wait to talk you about life, about...

O'REILLY But he's gone.

PALMINTERI He was gone and I was so disappointed because I wanted her to speak to him about shampoo. He's made some of the great movies.

O'REILLY Bonnie and Clyde.

PALMINTERI Bonnie and Clyde, Splendor in the Grass.

O'REILLY Yeah.

PALMINTERI I couldn't wait to talked him and he just kind of just said, okay. Thanks. And I was like, wow.

O'REILLY I'll try to set that up.

PALMINTERI I would love to talk to him about that.

O'REILLY Yeah, he doesn't want anything to do with me, but if I say, Hey, Warren, I'm coming over unless you talk to Chazz.

PALMINTERI I was such a fan of his, you know, I really was.

O'REILLY Don't take it personally.

PALMINTERI I got hurt. Like I went, damn.

O'REILLY No, no, no. No, Warren's never going to be from the neighborhood.

PALMINTERI Yeah, I guess so.

O'REILLY Never. Warren lives in his own neighborhood and there's only one person in it. Warren.

PALMINTERI Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're right. I'd like to ask you a question, but maybe we'll do it off the air.

O'REILLY No, you can do it if you want.

PALMINTERI I this this is a question and maybe you could just tell me, Bill. Why is it... Why is it that the left, especially the academia, hates the right, capitalism, the billionaires, so much? And I say to myself, okay, because I try to read and learn about it. And I go, well, capitalism, because I love to learn, I want to learn. And it's like, if you look at Dale Carnegie, Rockefeller, I mean, they did some horrible things, but capitalism builds things. The railroads, they build things. Without that rockets, who knows? Academia doesn't build anything. They have ideas. And in their ideas, it's almost like they're jealous of people who build things. Why is it that it's always capitalism against academia? I never get academia who's a capitalist.

O'REILLY Well, number one, you're a beneficiary of capitalism.

PALMINTERI Yes.

O'REILLY Because you created something that people want to see. And they have rewarded you financially.

PALMINTERI Right.

O'REILLY Very simple. Number two, for some convoluted reason, many academics, and I attended Harvard, as you may know, okay. Believe that you couldn't have done what you did. In fact, Obama said this to me, without the government. Are you blanking kidding me?

PALMINTERI But that's not true.

O'REILLY Of course not, but he believes it and so do his acolytes in The academic circles many many many of them, that... Okay, slaves and Native Americans with the land and everybody who got hosed in our country...

PALMINTERI Right.

O'REILLY Contributed to Palminteri and O'Reilly living large. And they don't like it. That's the answer to your question.

PALMINTERI You know, and I voted for Obama, and he did, look, he did some things, he started at least caring about the Obamacare, worrying about other people, and I respect that. He did start that.

O'REILLY He wasn't a bad president.

PALMINTERI No, and, I respect that, but I, no, I'm sorry, the government didn't make me do anything.

O'REILLY No.

PALMINTERI No, I'm sorry.

O'REILLY Right, and the same thing.

PALMINTERI No.

O'REILLY Just get out of our way.

PALMINTERI Just get out of the way and leave me alone.

O'REILLY Right.

PALMINTERI No, no.

O'REILLY Chazz Palminteri. Thank you very much for taking the time.

PALMINTERI Thank you.

O'REILLY It was a great discussion and we really appreciate it.

PALMINTERI Thanks a lot.

O'REILLY Okay, we continue now with We'll Do It Live. People around the country who don't know the culture of New York City, come up to me, because they know I'm a New Yorker, like you, and they go, how could you elect a communist to be the mayor of the largest city in the country? How could that happen? How do you answer that question?

ROSENBERG Well, you're being kind, calling him a communist. I mean, again, I wanna rattle off all the names I've called him, but communist, socialist, anti-Semite, anti-American. There's a lot of bad stuff about this guy. How does it happen? Well, how it happened was, some people would tell you that, oh, they flew in people from different countries. They rigged it. There was a Muslim bloc. That's not the way it went. How it happened was, the youngsters, all those hipsters that live in fancy parts of Brooklyn like Williamsburg, some of the Upper East Side young people, they saw a guy who promised them the world. He was going to pay for everything. Everything was going be free from their education. That he was going to freeze their rent? Everything was going to be free. And I hate to say this, because it sounds crazy in a city where there's the second most Jews next to Israel in the world. But these days in these blue sanctuary cities, hating on Jews works. It's chic. So he had two platforms. It's all free for you, and you know what? And up with the Jews that worked here. So after 12 years of real lousy leadership between Bill de Blasio and Eric Adams, here comes this young guy. And the other big reason why he won was social media. And you're great at this too. He was able to take TikTok and make that work so well for him. How do you reach a young audience these days, Bill? How do you do it?

O'REILLY You gotta go on social media.

ROSENBERG He absolutely perfected it. So he's a terrible guy. He is already the worst mayor in the city's history and he's at 120 days in. But in terms of his campaign platforms, his social media, the young base, the, people call it a charming smile. I don't see it that way, but people say that he was the right guy at the right time. And unfortunately, he has now become the base of the whole party. There is not one politician in New York and across the country that at this point is not afraid of Zohran Mamdani.

O'REILLY How do you back up your statement that he's already the worst mayor in the city's history? What do you point to to back that?

ROSENBERG I have 10 different things. Let's start with Ken Griffin. Ken Griffin, I know you know him, very successful guy, wanted to do a six billion dollar project to renovate a building on 350 Park Avenue in New York City. Six billion dollars, Bill. Also, come with that, 15,000 jobs. People have to live somewhere, they have to eat somewhere. The amount of revenue coming to New York city was gonna blow the doors off. And what does he do? He does a commercial because he's trying to get the billionaires to pay all of our taxes or leave. He does a commercial outside of Ken Griffin's house. He humiliates the guy, he mentioned the guy. Now Ken Griffin is seriously considering not doing the deal. He'll take that $6 billion, he'll go to Florida, he'll to Texas, here's the problem. We've got a $5.4 billion deficit. Doesn't this moron mayor realize that Ken Griffin, $6 billion can help? So that's just, that's economics. Forget about the Jewish stuff, the fact that he doesn't want bumper zones in front of houses of worship. Now he has actually vetoed it. In front of education homes where Jewish kids go to school, he's done that, he vetoed that, okay? He actually blamed a synagogue for all the chaos outside rather than the pro-Hamas followers. He has put together a transition team of people that have A, some of them are felons, legitimate felons. Others had to completely erase their whole social media profile because they're a bunch of anti-Semites. So the economy is a big issue because he's trying to tax all the rich. He's driving the people who pay the majority of the taxes out of our city. That's a nightmare. He's done nothing to help the Jews. Anti-Semitism is at an all time high, and maybe the worst of all, he's anti-cop. This is what I tell Trump all the time when Trump says he's a nice guy. You cannot be anti-cops and be a nice guy. Not once, but twice, Bill, he has visited a perp in the hospital who tried to hurt a cop. One guy who tried kill a cop, he's gone to visit the perp twice. And now even Julie Menon, the city council speaker, has had just about enough of him. So, you look at what he's done, economy, the police, different ethnic groups in this city. In 120 days, this guy is already doing a ton of damage.

O'REILLY What is your take on the Trump-Mamdani relationship? Because Mamdani uses that. He uses it. And the president, I'm not going to say allows him to use it, but it gives him some sort of access.

ROSENBERG This is the one issue that I have with President Trump. And I've texted him about this, and I've said it on the air. And I'm always afraid I'm gonna make him angry, so I was very happy that he texted me back on Sunday morning. Hey, Sid, thanks, I'm okay thanks to the Secret Service. That made me feel good. Because I always think he's angry at me. I don't like what I saw in that Oval Office. I don't think that the President has to be that nice, telling everybody, well, he's a nice guy. No, he is not. He's not a nice guys. Okay, when you live with a woman, his wife, who actually liked, enjoyed graphic images of young girls being raped, babies put in ovens, teens being killed on October the 7th, that's not nice guy, anti-cop, that's a not nice guy, so I send messages to Trump. I go, be careful, okay? I understand you want New York to thrive. Folks, President Trump loves New York. He may live between Mar-a-Lago and Washington, D.C. He loves New York. His name is still on tons of buildings here. He wants New York to thrive. He believes that if he has a decent relationship or a good relationship with the mayor, that'll only help New York's chances of getting back to where it was. That's fine, but to smile and tell us he's a good guy, I know he doesn't feel that way in his heart of hearts. I know what he doesn't.

O'REILLY Does he ever answer your questions?

ROSENBERG He says, I understand. I understand.

O'REILLY You understand.

ROSENBERG And again, I think he wants us to thrive so badly he's willing to do it, but it's a bad look. It's a bad look. Even last week he finally came out and he took a shot at Mamdani on Tooth Social. He said, I hate to say this, but he's destroying our city based on the taxes, based on the economy, but still found a way to compliment him. My advice to President Trump from his biggest fan, a New York Jew who wants us to thrive in every possible aspect, you can be civil to the mayor, stop bending over to be so nice, because for some of us, we don't like it.

O'REILLY Well, it's going to get worse under Mamdani. That's for sure. No doubt in my mind as a historian. And the final question is the highlight of your week is talking to me on Thursday morning. Is that correct?

ROSENBERG Listen, not just to highlight, but you talked about how well I do on the ratings, and I'm gonna say this not to embarrass you, because I do do very, very well. I kill the competition. I'm destroying the guys across the street. When I say destroying, I mean 20 and a half times the ratings. Of all the segments we do, we've gotten to the point now in radio you could actually get ratings on every single segment. So let's say I do 20 segments a day. Every single segment all week long, the highest ratings I get for any segment any day of the week. The highest ratings on the whole radio station are Bill O'Reilly and Sid Rosenberg sometime around 9 a.m. give or take every Thursday morning.

O'REILLY And they can't even see me on the radio.

ROSENBERG No.

O'REILLY They can't see you.

ROSENBERG You're handsome guy. Look at that beautiful tie.

O'REILLY The... Just like Trump. Just like. You can see the Robert Wagner look. He's 98 years old now. Well, I appreciate you being on. We have a lot of fun. That's the key to it. We make good points.

ROSENBERG Yeah, well you do. But it's fun, it's fun.

O'REILLY And in any entertainment venue, you can give information and opinion, but you have to have some kind of rapport with the audience. The audience likes what they're seeing.

ROSENBERG Of course. And the thing that you do so well, and I'm going to talk about you on your own show, but one of the reasons why our segment and your whole career has been so great, is you can sit down with President Trump, I've said this before, I really fell in love with you. I've always liked and respected you. I think you're the best that ever did this job, but I fell in loved with you in 2015-16. You were the only person on television that criticized President Trump and I love President Trump, but you weren't nasty about it. You weren't looking to humiliate the president, and he respected you. And I would say to my brother-in-law, but I go, look at O'Reilly. He can say that to Trump. If anybody else said that, Trump would never talk to them again. He would Chuck Todd him. But with you, it was completely different. And you can talk about the Mets, and you can talk about the Islanders, and you could talk about your Joe Namath golf tournament, and your son and your daughter. The conversations with you and I don't revolve necessarily around Trump and China. And that's why it's entertaining, because it's unpredictable. And the only way you have great success in this business, no matter what, is a level of unpredictability. That's what we've got.

O'REILLY And you know, we're going to see the Mets in the middle of the month and...

ROSENBERG I'm excited.

O'REILLY I have called Mr. Met a communist. I didn't call him a cockroach though, I'm warming up for that.

ROSENBERG I did, but that was a whole other controversy I started here. I actually had to become a Yankee band and now I got Steve Cohen, the owner of the Mets, begging me to come to Shea Stadium.

O'REILLY And there's a reason for that.

ROSENBERG There is.

O'REILLY But anyway, Mr. Met embraced, what, Mamdani's wife or something?

ROSENBERG No. It was Mr. And Mrs. Met that embraced Mamdani. His wife wasn't there. So, I went to City Field last year and I have the video to prove it. And I'm trying to get a picture of Mr. Met. Bill, he's running down the hall, running down hall. I'm like, Mr. Met, it's Sid. He ran down the hall, no picture, no video, nothing. I've got a picture me like this and Mr. Met about 15 feet in front of me. Mamdani shows up, Mr. And Mrs. Met, it was like a threesome. It was almost porn, it was gross. They weren't just shaking his hand, they were hugging, they were kissing.

O'REILLY I know.

ROSENBERG So I go on Twitter that night and I go, oh my God, look at this video. Mr. Met is an anti-Semite. This went nuts. This was as bad as me calling the mayor a cockroach. Millions and millions of people. And then I called Randy Levine of the Yankees, the president of the Yankees. And I said, Randy, next Sunday, I'm gonna be 59 years old. I've been a diehard Met man since the day I was born. I'm coming to you. He said, guess what. You got four legend seats to my next game. I'm gonna send you a whole box of stuff. You can wear all the Yankee stuff you want. We're happy to have you. Sure enough, the next day at my house in Queens, big box, Thurman Munson, Wedgie Jackson, Derek Jeter, I got an Aaron Judge jersey. I show up that Wednesday night, Yankees Angels, wearing a judge jersey on WFAN right before, sitting with the president of the Yankees, and ever since then, about two and a half weeks ago, I am now a Yankee fan.

O'REILLY We'll get you back. I mean, I root for both teams. I'm one of the few people who can do that, but I have legacy on on both teams.

ROSENBERG Well, you got involved in this because...

O'REILLY I got involved.

ROSENBERG Right, because you are the guy that introduced me to Steve Cohen a couple of times.

O'REILLY I mean, I want a detente on this one. But I am standing by my statement that Mr. Met is a communist. I don't know about Mrs. Met, I don't really care about her and that you know, if I run into him, it might be trouble.

ROSENBERG Oh good! Between the two of us that night, it could be a lot of...

O'REILLY Sid Rosenberg, everyone. Okay. Thanks for coming on. This was a lot of fun. And thanks for being so honest. It's gonna help a lot people who need help.

ROSENBERG Well, I will say this. I'm glad you said that because it goes back a bit in this episode, but I really I tried to kill myself twice. I thought for sure my life was never going to amount to anything. So at the very least, as to what Bill just said, if you do watch this and you are struggling right now, take it from a guy that knows. You can do this. Step one, just admit you're powerless. Turn your life over to something bigger than you, go for help, and you could end up just like this. I promise.

O'REILLY All right, and Ava is the linchpin for you.

ROSENBERG I have a beautiful little boy, too, who's about to go to college, but my 22-year-old daughter has saved my life.

O'REILLY Where's Gabe going?

ROSENBERG We're hoping University of Florida. Yeah, Gator, you know that state very well.

O'REILLY I do indeed. You got to watch out for the... Not just the Gators, there's a lot of critters.

ROSENBERG Yeah, a lot of critters.

O'REILLY There are critters in Gainesville.

ROSENBERG Big bugs?

O'REILLY Yep, giant bugs. They'll move in, by the way. Bugs will move in and won't pay any rent. I'm not going to use the word cockroach. All right. Sid Rosenberg, everyone. There he is.

ROSENBERG Thank you.

O'REILLY We'll see you on the radio.

ROSENBERG I can't wait.

O'REILLY Biden, who was a terrible president, and you don't have to endorse that, but I wrote a book, Confronting the Presidents. The guy was just staggeringly bad, didn't get any of this. Nobody was really trying to sabotage him until George Clooney popped up with a bottle of tequila.

PIRRO Yeah, at Obama's behest.

O'REILLY Maybe.

PIRRO Maybe? Okay.

O'REILLY Maybe. And the reason I say that is because I'm a due process guy.

PIRRO Okay.

O'REILLY Now, you're probably right on that, because it's inconceivable to me that Clooney would do anything on his own politically. You have to go to Obama, who's the most powerful person in the Democratic Party, who showed up this week with Mamdani, to sing to little kids, and what wasn't reported is all the little kids ran out the back door.

PIRRO I didn't know that. I didn't know that!

O'REILLY Let's get out of here. But anyway, Obama is a fascinating character. But you were right when you said that there wasn't the hatred, even on the right.

PIRRO No, we don't respond that way. We don't.

O'REILLY Toward Barack Obama. They didn't like him, but there wasn't anybody trying to destroy him.

PIRRO We didn't try to indict him, we didn't make up all kinds of stories about him. Look, you know as well as I do that when he first came in, first thing he did was he brought in the Muslim Brotherhood, went to Egypt and worked with the Muslim brotherhood. And it was like, we were all stunned, but did we say that there was some kind of conspiracy going on, or he's involved with the Muslims who hate the Americans and the infidels?

O'REILLY I actually scolded him on my live Super Bowl interview. I scolded him for doing that on my interview with the Super Bowl. I go, hey, what is this? Let's wrap the interview with a perspective. So you go from television fame and fortune into public service, right? You do it because you were... Some inner voice or something said this is the right thing for me, Jeanine Pirro, to do. Am I correct there? Do I have that there? Because like Greg Gutfeld, I'm a little slow on the uptake sometime. Okay, so it was a personal decision that this is a right thing to do. Doesn't have anything to do with Donald Trump, doesn't have anything to do...has everything to do with Jeanine Pirro.

PIRRO It had to do with Donald Trump. I mean there's no question if someone else had asked me I might not have done it.

O'REILLY Really?

PIRRO Yeah, because I was so convinced that the president and I were on the same page as it relates to law and order. I don't know where it was I think the WAPO did an article years ago.

O'REILLY That's Washington Post.

PIRRO Yeah, Washington Post did an article, the judge who speaks Trump's language, something like that. And it's true, because whenever he spoke, it was, I said to myself, I could have said that you know.

O'REILLY All right, so you're simpatico with him, and that mattered.

PIRRO That definitely mattered to me.

O'REILLY Okay, so you show up, not an easy adjustment.

PIRRO No.

O'REILLY Because you had a cushy life in New York and the cocker spaniels are looking at you going...

PIRRO Standard poodles.

O'REILLY Okay, whatever they are looking at you're going where are you? What's going on here?

PIRRO Yeah.

O’REILLY That was tough. All right, and then you do a toll adjustment of being a pundit to being a prosecutor, which may sound easy, but it's not. It's a whole different discipline.

PIRRO I work, I don't know, 14, 15 hours a day. I mean, I'll be...

O'REILLY Is that how much you work?

PIRRO Yeah.

O'REILLY And you look good. I mean...

PIRRO Thank you.

O'REILLY You don't have spa time?

PIRRO I haven't been to a spa in a year. But the truth is that I'm energized by this job. The truth is, that I'll go home and, you know, Tim Lauer, who worked in Fox, who's in charge of my press here. You know, he'll call me at 11 o'clock at night because the press is calling him at 11 o'clock at night. You know, if we work around the clock and it's okay. If there's a homicide, the Capitol Museum homicide when I first got here, where the two young people got shot and killed, you know, Milgrim and Lischinsky by the shooter, Rodriguez, who came from Chicago, Illinois. I was out there in the middle of the night with the mayor as they took the bodies off the street. You know what I found out, Bill? That the AUSA is the Assistant U.S. Attorneys, they don't go out on homicides. I said, what? You don't out on a homi- No, we can't. We can't get involved. I said that all changes. You're going out on the homicides, I'll go out on a homicide.

O'REILLY Why did they say they couldn't go out on it?

PIRRO Because I told you it was a neglected office. Nobody pushed them. Nobody pushed in the fight to get in there and you fight with the defense and the public defenders. And the judge and you fight whatever you've got to fight to get this conviction, to get in there and to make sure that you protect the innocent, the person who never asked to be a part of the system in the first place. That's your job.

O'REILLY Okay, but they didn't want to do their job because it was hard. That's what it usually comes down to. I don't want to get up at midnight and have to go down to some dank neighborhood and look at, you know, a body bag.

PIRRO Okay, I'll give you a better one. If you work two weeks, five days a week, the lawyers, you get a day off. That means every month you get at least two days off or two and a half days off. That's nonsense. You got paid. You don't need to get time off. You're getting a vacation, you got sick time, you've got paternity, you've got maternity. Pretty soon they're gonna have animal bereavement time. You don't get...

O'REILLY Animal bereavement, I'm for that.

PIRRO So am I. In fact, tomorrow, I don't want to date this, but it's Bring Your Child to Work Day. I was thinking of bringing the dogs to work, you know? For those of us who don't have young kids anymore.

O'REILLY But you certainly toughened up the whole situation and it's going to be interesting to see the midterms as we discussed it, whether that is going to put a tsunami of more work into your office.

PIRRO It will.

O'REILLY Yeah, I think so.

PIRRO Yeah, I don't think there's any questions.

O'REILLY But you guys are ahead of it, you're prepared for it.

PIRRO Well, you know, I'm not really ahead of anything. You know, right now I'm pushing and pushing and I need more prosecutors. They're aware of that. We're trying to get more people into the office. I'm still shy of a bunch of prosecutors. I'm talking about 10, I talking about maybe 30.

O'REILLY Well, I'm glad you're saying it because millions of people are going to watch this interview and there are some very bright young law school people just graduated.

PIRRO You know what? Send me an email at jeanine.pirro@USDOJ.gov. Okay? And if you're a prosecutor, a local prosecutor in a local DA's office, I'm taking all comers. Come on in. You want to fight in the nation's capital, the biggest office in the country? Come on in.

O'REILLY Okay. Final question for you. And you're very kind to do this interview. What's the most fun that you have had in DC? Have you had any fun whatsoever? No, it's all work, right?

PIRRO It's not, it's not fun. I mean, I love the job, but when you say fun, I mean that's like hanging out and, you know.

O'REILLY Floating down the Potomac.

PIRRO Yeah, hooting and hollering and all that. No.

O'REILLY No.

PIRRO It's all serious.

O'REILLY Well, Saturday night at the Correspondents' Dinner.

PIRRO I'll see you there.

O'REILLY You may have fun.

PIRRO Yeah.

O'REILLY If I have to go after somebody.

PIRRO Yep.

O'REILLY Okay, just be gentle when you put the cuffs on me.

PIRRO Yeah, okay, Bill.

O'REILLY Okay, because that's why I'm there.

PIRRO You're there protecting us.

O'REILLY I am protecting the office of the presidency because it just drives me nuts.

PIRRO Drives us all nuts.

O'REILLY You know, I know all of the presidents from Washington on. Not personally, but I know who they were. Nobody was treated like this, like President Trump. It's wrong. And I don't care whether you like him or not. I don't care whether you think he's bellicose, word of the day. It doesn't matter to me. You're an American, you can decide those things. But to try to demean the whole structure of the commander in chief. If I were you, I'd arrest Murphy, the senator from Connecticut.

PIRRO Chris Murphy?

O'REILLY Yeah, he's the worst. You can get him on something. Anyway, thank you very much.

PIRRO Thank you, Bill.

O'REILLY I'm calling you Jeanine because it's 30 years...

PIRRO Thank you, Bill, and it's good to see you.

O'REILLY You're doing a great job. You are a patriot. That's my highest compliment.

PIRRO I know that, that's why my eyebrows just went up. Thank you, Bill.

O'REILLY I hope we see you soon.

PIRRO Yes. God bless. Thank you.

O'REILLY Okay, so we're in our Killing Time segment today and I have three more questions for Howie Mandel who's been very generous with his time. When you made it, okay, because you were a regular guy as he told us, you were raised in lower middle class status, as was I. And when it all started to come rolling in, the money and the fame, satisfaction, to some degree, that you were succeeded. Did you think about it in the moment? Hey, I'm making it now. Did that occur to you?

MANDEL This year, turning 70, is the first time in my entire life that I sit in places where I am doing things I'm doing and reflecting like, wow, this is great. And also reflecting on the fact that in the moments past, which were also great, I was so entwined in fear, nervousness and just not enjoying the moment. And I think that's mistake that we all make in life, of not enjoying a moment, because everything could end. Like even when I got a series, every day, I thought I was going to be fired when I was on St. Elsewhere. I thought they were all actors I'm not an actor, they're gonna fire me. I did a scene today, I'd go home every night ,and tell my wife I did a scene today and I don't think anybody liked it because they just said cut, nobody said that was great. And I would go do concerts and I'd be in a room filled with thousands of people who were laughing, but I was focused on the three people in row three that were just not getting it. Or this is gonna end or, you know, I'm replaceable. And it was always and that's why I invested and I have this building and stuff because that came out of fear of going, I can't just rely on somebody calling me and saying, will you come do a show? But even that, you know, the market could crash and I ensure the building like I always worry. Worry was a driving force. And worry about this moment could end and I need these moments, and then also being aware, you know, when I first started in television, you know, you do The Tonight Show. I would do the Johnny Carson show, and the next day I would be mobbed in the street, but a week later I wouldn't. So, I was always aware of how fleeting, you know, recognition or being top of mind and especially now, where people have you know 600 stations on linear television, let alone all this on the web and playing games and all this, the fact that somebody even knows me. And when I walk out in the street and they go, Hey Howie, loved AGT or loved that, I am so bowled over. So, not until my late sixties and now do I realize, Hey, I did something. This is pretty cool.

O'REILLY Was there a moment that that dawned on you or was it just an evolutionary thing?

MANDEL It wouldn't be one moment. And I'm sorry it wasn't. I'm sorry I didn't...Cause I think of those moments like getting a chance to do the tonight show was an amazing, but it was... Terror overtook everything else. And then my biggest memory and emotion was terror, but even how will they ever call me back again? Doing, I did a young comedian special. That was the thing that first launched me like into the ability to sell tickets on my own. And on the young comedian's special, It was me, Richard Lewis, Jerry Seinfeld, and Harry Anderson, and it was hosted by the Smothers Brothers. And that thing came out on HBO. I didn't even know what HBO really was. I was still living in Canada. And then the next week, I could sell 10,000 tickets. I sold out two shows at the Radio City Music Hall in a few minutes in one night. I remember, and this is just to give you the mindset, I've talked about this before, I did two shows of Radio City music hall and they were sold out. And at the end of the first show, I went up to my dressing room and I looked out on, what do I look out on for my dressing, 7th Avenue? I looked at on, I think 7th Ave. So I looked down on 7th Avenue and 7,000 people are teaming out into the streets of Manhattan and there's cops out there and there are stanchions. As 7,000 people are trying to come in, there's like this quagmire in the middle of the busiest city in the world. And my wife looks out and she goes, what are you thinking? All these people are for you. And I said, Well, I'm thinking there's 14,000 people out there. I'm thinking that there's 20 million people in the city and 19 million and 86,000 people...

O'REILLY Didn't show up to see me. Your wife must be a saint.

MANDEL I owe her everything, you know, like even for me to get diagnosed with OCD, that was based on an ultimatum. You know, she goes, I just can't take this anymore. You know, I was making everybody, I built this second house in our backyard so that if the kid coughed, I went and lived in there. I would make them, I wiped down everything, wouldn't let them touch anything. I mean, I was tortured, but I tortured everybody around me. And she said, either you go get help, you go find it. I come from the same era as you, you now, I wouldn't go get help. I don't get even the word mental, mental, you know, I'm not going to go if I go to a psychiatrist, they're just going to lock me up and give me a lobotomy. It was like one flew over the cuckoo's net. But she said I'm either out or you go get help and it's the best thing I ever did.

O'REILLY Well, you're an honest man, and that is, to me, those are the kind of people that I want to talk to. And, you know, there aren't that many, particularly in showbiz, because everybody's putting on a performance, as you pointed out earlier. They're trying to sell something or be something that they're not. But you are one of the most genuine guys, and that's why I went to see you as a stand-up. I'll never forget that night. And I just said, the guy just makes me laugh. I can't tell you a specific line or just he's out there, he's genuine, he sees the world a little bit like I do, that it's just a nuthouse, and he just makes fun of it.

MANDEL I'm just silly and I'm trying to escape. You know, people come and they come and see me. Go check out HowieMandel.com. I'm touring now. But it's just to escape, you know, life is hard. The world is hard.

O'REILLY Sure.

MANDEL And you know, I just, in my own little world, I just try to bring a little bit of levity. You know, it's a little escape. Come for a couple of hours and escape. I don't talk about really issues at all. And I'm just having fun. And for me, it's my panacea. And hopefully I can spin... I could be your...

O'REILLY We will catch up with you on the road, of course. And thank you very much, Howie, for talking with us today.

MANDEL Thanks, buddy. You're the best. Stay healthy. Bye-bye.

O'REILLY Right. You know, they...

KROFT I've been watching more now.

O'REILLY But do you say to yourself, I can do that better. I mean, what are they doing here? Because I do that. David Muir.

KROFT Yeah.

O'REILLY Looks like a nice guy, right?

KROFT Yeah.

O'REILLY He says the word 'tonight' 73 times in 22 minutes.

KROFT I know.

O'REILLY 73 times, we counted it. David, does he have a writer? Is anybody there?

KROFT No, I think that's they want to know that this is fresh tonight, even though it's not.

O'REILLY But 73 times, I got it in the first 40.

KROFT No, I mean, that's... Look, if you want to go and pick at things right now, it's very easy to do.

O'REILLY Oh, yeah, it's simple.

KROFT When I was a correspondent, I could write and that was probably my strength and storytelling. And I was never that good at live, you know. I didn't like live. Now it's all live.

O'REILLY That's the name of the show. We'll Do It Live.

KROFT So, you look at cable TV, to me, is kind of like, I mean, look, some of it's very good. And they have smart people on the show. Also, very much like reminded me of High Park Corner, where you just get some guy up there on a soap box and saying whatever the hell he wants.

O'REILLY And there's nobody there, no editor.

KROFT No fact checkers.

O'REILLY Nothing. You can just say what you want.

KROFT There's gonna be a draft!

O'REILLY That kind of thing. Wait, who said that? What's your source for that? All of that is gone. And that's...and I'm like you. I don't watch a lot. I don't have a lot of time because I'm doing my own thing. But I, I'm just stunned at they can't hit the fastball anymore. It's like being a baseball player.

KROFT Yeah.

O'REILLY They just forgot how to hit the fastball, and you just sit there and you're watching people who you shouldn't be on there in the first place. They have no training at all. You know, working at Hooters is not training to be a cable news host. It's not. But the executives, as you said, They don't care as long as the money flows.

KROFT As long as the money flows and as long as somebody is attractive and presentable, and you know, they can get along with that. You know, I don't know what to tell you. That's just the way it's been for... It's been that way for a long time.

O'REILLY So you're not really watching what your vocation was. What do you do? Because you're an active mind. I mean, you got all your facilities.

KROFT I read it.

O'REILLY You read what kind of stuff?

KROFT I read the Wall Street Journal, which I think is probably the best newspaper.

O'REILLY I agree with that.

KROFT I read The New York Times.

O'REILLY Whoa!

KROFT I went through a period where I did not read The New York. I've come back to them a little bit because they still have good people all over the world. They can still...

O'REILLY All right. So you're reading the foreign stuff.

KROFT Yeah. My problem with media, I'm sure with you, I thought that the wokeness of The Times it spread from the editorial page onto the front page into the stories. And I think that the new editor, Mr. Saltzpeter, realized that and has made some changes.

O'REILLY I always wondered what Mike Wallace would have thought of woke. He wasn't exactly... Can you imagine that? Him and you, it's just, oh, jeez. That would have been a sitcom all by itself.

KROFT Yeah.

O'REILLY Okay.

KROFT But we actually got to the point where there was a battle inside 60 Minutes.

O'REILLY Oh, I remember it. Meredith Vieira.

KROFT Yeah and again after that more recently and that there were, you know, the women were becoming much more outspoken and I think that that's good.

O'REILLY As long as they have something to say.

KROFT Yes, and I...Look, I think there are a lot of really talented women journalists right now and a lot talented minority journalists right now, and that's great. They have to make sure that they keep their political positions separate from their work. I think that's where you start to get into some trouble.

O'REILLY Do you ever miss it? I mean, would you like to interview Trump? I've interviewed him 30 times, okay? To me, he's one of the most fascinating human beings I've ever met. I've known him 35 years. Okay, we used to go to the Knick and Yankee games together.

KROFT Yeah, you couldn't miss him in New York. That's where I knew him. I knew when I first came to New York.

O'REILLY My great Trump stories were sitting in a front row at Yankee Stadium, and they have the Jumbotron, and they go to him, and there's applause, polite, and he'd go to me, huge. See that? He wasn't happy.

KROFT No, I know he's...

O'REILLY I got him a vanilla milkshake though. It made it all better. But he, like him or not, hardest working president of all time, guy never sleeps. He is fascinating and what he did coming out of God knows what in New York City to where he got. Historic.

KROFT You know, I have, I want to say the thing that I feel the worst about Trump. I don't like this FCC commissioner, Carr.

O'REILLY Okay.

KROFT I, I don't think he, I, don't think Trump thinks that much of the first amendment, um, and I think it's really important, you know, your freedom to say whatever you want, my freedom to whatever I want. I think it's really important. And I think that they keep trying to like...

O'REILLY Push it.

KROFT Yeah. Cut it back.

O'REILLY But the courts are there to restrain.

KROFT Yeah, and they're starting to respond. Now, I don't know what's gonna happen when they get to the Supreme Court, but that's, you know, I've forgotten how slowly justice, or the wheels of justice turn in this country. It takes forever to get...

O'REILLY He can be persuaded.

KROFT I think he can't.

O'REILLY I know that. I have.

KROFT I hope he's not persuaded to pull out of Iran before the Strait of Hormuz is...

O'REILLY That'll be very interesting to see what he does there, because the worst thing can happen to Donald Trump, the worst, is to have a loser tag.

KROFT To have what?

O'REILLY A loser tag, he's got to win.

KROFT Yeah. And he's not going to win if he pulls out. And the other thing is I have a high respect for NATO and for the European allies. And I consider them to be our friends. And I hate the thought of seeing them...

O'REILLY You'll never have detente there.

KROFT Huh?

O'REILLY You'll never have detente there. There's bad, bad blood. And I know that to be soon. It's been a very, very interesting experience.

KROFT Yeah, it's great to see you.

O'REILLY You know, I mean, Kroft and I, you got to understand this. We're the last of the dinosaurs. We are. Our bones will be in North Dakota. They'll be digging our bones up. Look at this, this guy was 60 Minutes. Look at this bone! Okay, O'Reilly we don't care about him but...

KROFT Who's this big guy?

O'REILLY Yeah. It's just like, Oh. But I admire my cohorts who have done their job honestly. And I can honestly say you've been one of them.

KROFT Yeah. And I look, I think one of the things that I said, I've never thought that you were crazy. And sometimes, sometimes in the Republican Party, particularly today in the MAGA thing, MAGA thing, there are some people out there that I think are a little, a little wacky.

O'REILLY It's all money.

KROFT It's all money, but I've I've never seen you go anywhere other than via you know, a conservative spokesman and a good representative of the conservative movement and also call people out when they think that they're wrong.

O'REILLY We try to do it on a fact-based situation. Ideology doesn't really appeal to me that much. I'm more of a historian/reporter. But I get his teet off with anybody on the right as the left.

KROFT Yeah.

O'REILLY Okay, I mean, these people who are apologists for their ideology, they bore me to death. You'll never see them on this program.

KROFT Yeah.

O'REILLY Never. I mean I don't have time for that. Thank you, Steve. Appreciate it.

KROFT Okay, great to see you, Bill.

O'REILLY Thanks.

KROFT Good luck.

O'REILLY So as you well know, I am in the political world. You know, it's as fascinating a world as your world, but totally different. On the sets of both The Sopranos and The Blue Bloods, did you guys talk politics at all?

SCHIRRIPA No. No. Well, I knew, I know, like where Tom stood, you know, because, you know, he was, you know, vocal about it. He was on TV shows, and I didn't work with Tom. I only did two scenes with Tom Selleck in 146 episodes, but I liked Tom a lot. Whenever I saw him, he couldn't have been nicer, more complimentary to me. So I knew where Tom was. Never knew where Donnie's politics or Bridget's politics. I have no idea where any of that was. The only time, and it wasn't even talk of politics, when I was out one night at Pastis, remember Pastis, in the meatpacking district? It was a spot we hung out at, a very busy spot. And I'm in there at the bar having a drink, and a guy taps me on the shoulder. It's a Secret Service guy. And he said, Bill Clinton would like to say hello. Now, he, I think Obama was in at the time, right? So I went back there, and we talked, and he couldn't have been nicer. And, you know, we knew Lorraine Bracco, and he said, tell Lorraine, hi, blah, blah, blah, blah. And then I went in the next day and just to say, you know, I met Bill Clinton and.

O'REILLY But that was your brush with politics.

SCHIRRIPA That was my...I'm not a political guy. I just….

O'REILLY But do you pay attention?

SCHIRRIPA I've started paying attention, I'm going to tell you when, when De Blasio got in. Before that, I didn't pay attention.

O'REILLY So you were annoyed enough to dial up and say, what the deuce is happening?

SCHIRRIPA But I did, no one taught politics, not to me, you know. And you know, two different things. Sopranos, everybody was younger, for the most part, at the time. You know what I mean? And this was like, for me, it was like, man, we live in your 20s. I mean, we were out every night and blah, blah. With Blue Bloods, everyone had, a lot of people had families, and everybody was older. You went in. I would say it was like kind of a nine-to-five job. You go in, my wife packed my lunch, I eat, I do my job, I know my lines, I come in, I go home, you know.

O'REILLY Now, if you were working those shows today, it would be different because of Trump. So Trump has blown up Hollywood in the sense that there are many performers obsessed, they call it Trump Derangement Syndrome, but they're really obsessed. And I know that because when I run into them, that's what they wanna talk about. And they blame me for Trump. I go, I've known him 35 years, but he did it, and I didn't help him do it, and he did it on his own. So you either like him or you don't like him. It's always been that way with Trump. But Hollywood now is so Trump-centric. Now that'll disappear in three years. Once he leaves the stage, political stage, everything will change politically. Obama was pretty much accepted, Bill Clinton was accepted by the Hollywood community.

SCHIRRIPA I saw them in Hillary at the marathon. I said hello to them at this last marathon. They were both there. I think their daughter ran.

O'REILLY Oh, yeah?

SCHIRRIPA I was waiting for my wife at the finish line, and they came over and said hello. Oh, that was nice. I had met both of them. Very nice. I had met them both separately at one point, but not politics, just like I meet anyone else.

O'REILLY So we had Rob Schneider on this program.

SCHIRRIPA You know, do you know, not to interrupt you, he used to be an Elvis impersonator in Japan.

O'REILLY I did know that. He is such an interesting guy, Schneider.

SCHIRRIPA He worked for me in Vegas.

O'REILLY Oh, he did?

SCHIRRIPA In the comedy club, sure.

O'REILLY And you like him, right?

SCHIRRIPA I like Rob very much.

O'REILLY Yeah, but he's taking it right between the eyes because he's a Trump supporter.

SCHIRRIPA Yeah, yeah, but he's kind of turned it around to his favor.

O'REILLY Yeah, because he's smart enough to do that.

SCHIRRIPA He's turned it around in his favor, you know, I see him, you know, his act, and you know I've seen what he's done. I haven't seen him in a number of years, but good guy.

O'REILLY Yeah, he's with the Sandler crew, and they make all those movies that are all very successful.

SCHIRRIPA I've known him for 40 years, man.

O'REILLY Right. Well, you know everybody. Is there anybody you don't know?

SCHIRRIPA No, there's people I don't know. There's some people I don't want to know.

O'REILLY You want to name that?

SCHIRRIPA I used to do that, go on and knock people out. You know the worst, one of the worst human beings that ever lived, walked the face of the earth, Pat Cooper. Did you know him?

O'REILLY I did not, I know who he is.

SCHIRRIPA One of the worst guys who ever lived.

O'REILLY Horrible guy.

SCHIRRIPA Horrible.

O'REILLY Right.

SCHIRRIPA Bad, bad guy.

O'REILLY Right, he opened for Sinatra. Pat Cooper as a comedian.

SCHIRRIPA Oh yeah, yeah.

O'REILLY Okay.

SCHIRRIPA But not not not all the time.

O'REILLY No.

SCHIRRIPA You... I was once friendly with him. You could take him like about this much, and then he starts yelling and screaming and doing all his nonsense, and he was on Howard Stern, and then he turned on him.

O'REILLY When you get older, if you don't get over that kind of stuff, then you're hopeless.

SCHIRRIPA Yeah, you know, he was a bad guy. That was one guy that I was, you know, not, you know, was vocal about. And Ellen, I talked about Ellen, how bad she was.

O'REILLY DeGeneres.

SCHIRRIPA She worked for me in Vegas.

O'REILLY Was she bad then?

SCHIRRIPA No, no, this is 86-87. Fine. Not a problem. Very funny. Not a star. I go to the first Emmys. They invite me, the Sopranos invite me. My first Emmy Awards, me and my wife, they fly us, first class. The red carpet, the whole shebang. We're staying at the Peninsula Hotel. HBO, no one does it like HBO. They flew 100 people out. I go, stupidly, I go to the bathroom, and stupidly I see her there with two other people. And I mean, here I am. I mean, I saw her, this is in like 2000, maybe, 2000. So it's not that, it wasn't that long ago, right? And I go over to her, and I, stupidly, which I never go over to celebrities for this reason. And I said, Hey, Ellen, I don't know if you remember me, but...Dismissed me like I was a piece of gum on the bottom of a shoe. Dismissed me. For what? Why? What did you remember? I'm not, and even, and Bill, and it all, it happens all the time, you fake it, hey, good to see you again.

O'REILLY You're respectful.

SCHIRRIPA What are you doing?

O'REILLY That's all you gotta, and how long would that have taken her to do? 30 seconds.

SCHIRRIPA I've had guys come up to me with their wives and their kids, and say, Steve, hey man, high school Lafayette, da da da.

O'REILLY Right.

SCHIRRIPA Good to see you, I have no idea who the guy is.

O'REILLY And if people want a picture with you, you pose, I've see that.

SCHIRRIPA What am I gonna do, shoot the guy down in front of his wife, right? I mean, she made me feel this big that I don't go over to anybody now.

O'REILLY But you could, and you'd be greeted well.

SCHIRRIPA Yeah, what were you saying? I cut you off.

O'REILLY No, no. That was the point of the discussion that the most celebrities, they're so insecure, moody, like your friend. You know, their whole life is built around their career. If it's not going well, then you say... But the thing I like about you is the consistency of behavior. Every time I see you, you smile, and you're interacting with the fans, you're respectful, and that's why you're here, and it was such a pleasure to talk with you, Shirripa.

SCHIRRIPA It's always, always, always a pleasure.

O'REILLY We're doing the Yankee fist bump here, all right? And then Knicks gonna make the play on it.

SCHIRRIPA Knicks are gonna make the playoffs. I feel pretty good. I feel good.

O'REILLY Celtics are pretty tough.

SCHIRRIPA That's all right.

I was in Boston at the game on Friday night.

SCHIRRIPA I know, what's his name's back, but we're pretty good too. And you know what I like about the Knick team? They do not quit.

O'REILLY No, they're in it.

SCHIRRIPA They do not quit. They don't quit.

O'REILLY Right.

SCHIRRIPA If everything clicks, we're gonna be okay.

O'REILLY Okay, thank you, Steve. I appreciate your time very much.

SCHIRRIPA Always good to see you.

O'REILLY When I was working at Fox News, my boss, Roger Ailes, he was a big Trump fan as far as politics were concerned. Now I have known Donald Trump for 35 years, probably longer than any other journalist. And it was basically a social go to the games, da da da, and I know how he operates. When he told me at a Knick game that he was going to run for president or wanted to, I said, of what country? Is it Bolivia? You're going to buy a Bali golf course? What are you doing? I didn't take it seriously whatsoever. I had no expectation that he would ever win. And I told him because that's me, I'm a big mouth.

GRAHAM Nor did I.

OK. So what he has managed to do is become, number one, the most controversial president in the history of our country by far. All right. Abraham Lincoln is second, and the hardest-working president of all. No one has ever worked hard.

GRAHAM Not even close how much time he puts in this job.

O'REILLY Right, but here's my question to you because you know him very well. What drives the man?

GRAHAM He loves the country. He wants to be successful. And that's okay. He thinks every day about where he's going to be in history. He thinks every day about, how can I keep it moving forward? Why does he do all of these things that other people are reluctant to do?

O'REILLY Yeah, all at one time.

GRAHAM Literally. Because he's driven by, he's a risk-taker, but he's not irresponsible. Venezuela was possible, but no guarantee. And he called me and said, if we pull this off, it resets this entire region. Donald Trump is not afraid to make a mistake. I'm not afraid of losing my job. The most dangerous person in politics is somebody who's afraid not to lose. And Donald Trump has always been afraid not to lose. He will say things that other people would not even think about saying, one, because he believes it. So what drives him is a love of this country. He thinks Obama and Biden ruined this country.

O'REILLY Yes, he does.

GRAHAM And I'm just telling you, whether you like those two or not, he believes it's his destiny to get America back on course, to be strong and respected again, to grow the economy. He believes this is what he is meant to do.

O'REILLY But he's a different guy this time around than he was in the first time around.

GRAHAM Can I tell you that's no tru- and he will say that, knowledge.

O'REILLY Well, tell me why he's so different now.

GRAHAM Because he was president, and he understood what worked and what didn't. And he came in this time with a very clear agenda. He saw what Biden did, and he was aghast. We talk all the time. You know, right after he lost, if they hadn't beat him up so bad, I don't think he would have run. But they just kept going, going, and going. And he's the most competitive man I've ever met. So he lost 2020, January 6th, the whole deal. I said, you ought to try it again. Now, let me tell you about me and Trump. In 2016, I was one of 17 people who ran for president. And you don't remember that because it did not last long. I'm the only guy that got a t-shirt. I didn't do well, but I ran, and I hated Trump. I called him a religious bigot, xenophobic, race-baiting religious bigot because he's so loud. He's from New York, and he's like saying things that made no sense to me. And he was just dominating the room. Nobody listened to me, he gave out my cell phone, playing around with me. So I lose big time, he wins, and I would have bet everything I owned he couldn't win. I'd bet everything owned and everything you owned that he could never get out of the primary, and he couldn't beat Hillary Clinton. I just thought, they're not going to do this. Boy, was I wrong. People saw something in him I didn't see, and everybody wants to go to Trump and tell him what he needs to do. You know what I do with Trump? I actually listen. Maybe I can learn something from him. How did this all happen? So I'm in the Senate, he's president. I was no fan at all. He calls me, I'd like you to help me. I said, okay, I'll be down. What do you want? Do it. Let's go to lunch. And he said, boy, that was easy. I said you won. I lost. It's my job. I'm supposed to. Right. Okay. So we had lunch and he said do you play golf? I said yeah. Went and played golf. I lost, and it's not that I like Trump's policies; I like Trump.

O'REILLY You like him as a guy?

GRAHAM I like him, yes.

O'REILLY I like him as a...

GRAHAM He's one of the most...

O'REILLY He's funny.

GRAHAM He's funnny.

O'REILLY Right?

GRAHAM He's become genuinely a good friend. And I never saw this coming. If you told me in 2016 that in 2026 people would be talking about Trump's closest ally was Lindsey Graham, I thought you were, you know, on crack.

O'REILLY Well, look at little Marco. Little Marco is his big aid now.

GRAHAM Well, now, what does this say about Trump?

O'REILLY He doesn't hold a grudge unless you go after his family.

GRAHAM Now, this is the key, two things, if you get personal.

O'REILLY Yes.

GRAHAM But if he believes you want him to be successful, he will take all kind of crap from you. He believes that I want him to be successful, and we have some knock-down drag-outs. Once he's comfortable that you want them to be successful, the fact that you don't agree for the moment, he puts in a box. Some people he won't do that with. The key to Trump is if you go personal, he'll go personal. The key to Trump is that you can disagree with him all day long, and you can still be his friend and ally if you bring something to the table. He thinks I know what the hell I'm doing. He thinks that I can get bills passed because I work with Democrats. He thinks I'm a Senator of value, and you know what he likes, winners. He likes people that know what the hell they're doing. He likes that people can do an hour show and make sense. He's drawn to talent, not ideology.

O'REILLY But he trusts you. And you have to earn the trust.

He knows, no matter what happened from here forward, that I'm not gonna screw him over. Anything we have, disagreement, will be in a room. We'll go out, and I'll try to help him. I am all in for what he's doing. To the people out there listening, whether you like Trump or not, that's up to you. I personally like Trump, but I think he's doing things that are historic. It's possible by the end of this year that we could have Cuba liberated, a communist dictatorship since the 50s, Venezuela is down, and Iran could be no longer the largest state sponsor of terrorism. And Saudi Arabia and Israel make peace, the biggest change in 2,000 years. We could have energy independence for real. We could ever growing economy. We could add interest rates down. We could ask conservative judges as far as the eye can see. I'll be chairman of the judiciary committee in '27. If I win and we keep the Senate, we're going to load up this country with as many conservative judges as we can. I am all on board for President Trump. Now, why is he different than the second term? He's a lot more knowledgeable. Confidence. He believes that when he goes in the room, he commands the room. The first term, everybody looked at him like a novelty. He is the man. He believes he's the man. And you know what? He's the man.

O'REILLY Very good, Senator. We can't thank you enough for putting up with me for an hour.

GRAHAM I've had worse experiences.

O'REILLY Yeah, my own mom wouldn't do that. Get out, get out, but you know, you're an honest guy. I've known you for a long time. We really appreciate your time today.

GRAHAM Thank you, pal.

It's like, what are you talking about? I mean, anytime Trump is confronted by some district court judge, he stops, and they work their way up. If he just wanted to just bowl over and not pay attention, if he really was a dictator, he wouldn't pay attention to what any court said, but he does every single time and works its way through the courts. The fact that Oprah Winfrey and whatever rich celebrity, whether it's Ellen or Oprah, the fact that they can afford private security and can live behind a big fence, and they are not subject to the crazy policies that the Democrats have had with open borders, and then these other misogynistic attacks on women the last few years.".

O'REILLY The one I can't figure out the most is Disney. Disney hates Trump. I mean, they're at the forefront of all of the anti-Trump stuff.

O'REILLY Yeah, but it's right out of Burbank, you know, it's a structure, it's top-down.

SCHNEIDER "It is, it is, but you do have, there's so many factions in it, it's hard to keep track of all of it. And I will tell you, they are definitely infiltrated by this woke stuff, and it hasn't gone away.".

O'REILLY Oh, there is no doubt about it.

SCHNEIDER "It's still there. And the same thing, like you take a great organization, like Netflix, it's also, I mean, the thing about it is like even the head of Netflix, who's a great guy, Ted Serrano's a great man, he didn't even know that there's, you know, what percentage in this, when he went to testify in Capitol Hill. He didn't know the percentage of what's happening that's the potentially used to indoctrinate children and his programming because it's such a gigantic big thing, but you have to be on it, and you have two be aware of it. And thankfully, this administration is calling people on it, and they don't like it. The left wants to just run ramshot, and they have, what really happened is in 2016, the liberals, the democrats specifically, they did not even imagine that Hillary Clinton was not going to win. And they, ideologically, could never get there. They could not find in any way. So they just went on the attack, and they're still on the attack. And thankfully, I think that because of that, that four-year gap, I think Trump ended up getting some, I mean, incredible people in this administration. I mean, the idea..."

O'REILLY Well, he learned a lot, Trump, from the first time.

SCHNEIDER "I mean, just to have Robert Kennedy, who's the Kennedy, the name. But also the fact that he, you know, is the most Democrat Democrat, and the most Democrat name in the history of the United States, Democrat, that he would come over and work with Trump. And to his credit, Robert Kennedy also called Kamala Harris at the same time that he called Trump. Kamala Harris, the campaign back in August of 2024, they wouldn't even return his phone call. Trump, within 30 minutes, was on the phone with him. Two hours later, they were on stage together. That's the thing that the Democrats do not understand. They can't get into their head. Trump loves this country. He wants to do what's best for it. Is he, does he sometimes, is he bombastic? Does he say things sometimes I wish he wouldn't have said? Yes, but look at the policy. Cover your ears, look at the policy. Look at the incredible people he has around him. You take a look at Secretary of State Rubio. He's the best Secretary of State in my lifetime. He's unbelievable. He's a, he's a man that is...".

O'REILLY That was little Marco. You remember that, right?

SCHNEIDER "That was. Well, that's, you know, Trump would give everybody a nickname, and that's how, you know, no, no energy jab or whatever was low energy."

SCHNEIDER "Bored Jeb. I mean, you've got to understand how impossible it was. That's why I think it was God-given for Trump because he had 10 people in 2015, 10. That was all that was working on the campaign. But he knew from doing The Apprentice, he knew from years of years of being in the spotlight. How he could get..."

SCHNEIDER "Media attention."

O'REILLY Right.

SCHNEIDER "Good or bad, and he realized just as bad as just...It's just as good as good."

O'REILLY He ran as a populist, but he's not a grudge holder, Trump.

SCHNEIDER "No, he doesn't. He gets over things, and even from..."

O'REILLY You should hear him on the phone with me. I never know. And it's like one in the morning. I have to keep my phone on.

SCHNEIDER "No, he has, he lets go of grudges. He really does."

O'REILLY He does, he doesn't hold it, you know, you can...

SCHNEIDER "He's told me to my face he hates me, he said I hate you. I hate you now. I remember, it's like 20 years ago. And then when I saw him again, I was like, do you still hate me? And he's like, ah, right. So, but I, you know, he loves this country. And that's something that the Democrats do not get, is that he does love this country."

O'REILLY Well, they don't want to get it.

SCHNEIDER "They don't wanna get it. He wants what's best for this country."

O'REILLY A million people believe what they want to believe.

SCHNEIDER "And he listens. He listens. I mean, he listened to the autistic community because he realized, you know, he had somebody who worked for him that, and she was, you know, one of the people who worked for Donald had, you know, had a kid who got autism, who was fine. And so he believes people and listens to people. And I think that that's really an important thing. A, to have a president that has a brain that actually functions, that's not using AutoPen, and he listens, and he takes... I mean, he's the most approachable president for the press that you can imagine. He's not gonna say what they wanna hear, and he'll call them out on it. But I really think he is by far the most consequential president of our lifetime."

O'REILLY Okay, he has got a tough road now.

SCHNEIDER "He's got a rough road, but I gotta tell you right now, I mean this is..."

O'REILLY If it works, he's elevated.

SCHNEIDER "Unequivocally. I mean, this is an evil regime, the Iranian regime. And to see liberal, white, middle-aged women holding up signs of the Ayatollah in New York City."

O'REILLY Right. It's sad.

SCHNEIDER "It is suicidal empathy, as Gad said."

O'REILLY I want to wrap it up with highlights of your career, okay? You've had a great career. It's not easy for a comedian to sustain that. They either blow up like Sam Kinison or they're here, and then they're gone. You don't know. What are the highlights for you, things that you have done that you look back and go, I really liked doing that.

SCHNEIDER "Well, I mean, being on the HBO Young Comedians special, which I saw when I was a little kid, to get on that was special. Doing standup on David Letterman was...

O'REILLY Was Letterman nice to you?

SCHNEIDER "Yeah, he was. He was."

O'REILLY Was he?

SCHNEIDER "You know, the best thing about it is I did a joke, and the audience didn't laugh yet because they weren't miked back then, this is the 80s, but David laughed. And you know when you're realizing you're out there, it's a small set."

O'REILLY Sure.

SCHNEIDER "It looks huge on TV, but he's like literally nine feet behind you, and he was like... I heard him laughing, and after you've been doing stand-up for thousands of times, your survival instinct kicks in. So let the audience hear it. And the second joke, he laughed. Heh heh heh heh. And so I said, just let it pause a little bit so the audience can hear that he's laughing. By the third joke, I was in, and I murdered. So that was amazing. That felt good. I mean, being on Saturday Night Live and saying live from New York Saturday night, I mean that's for a comedian who grew up watching that show with John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd and all the greats, Chevy Chase, and... And then, you know, being able to star in movies, you know Deuce Bigelow, and then because Adam Sandler produced it, he said, I said, why don't you write a movie? Just write, why don't you write a movie? And I said if it's funny, I'll produce it. If it's not, I won't. And so he was kind enough to invite me on his incredible successful journey. Being with him on 50 First Dates, and truthfully like, and that was an honor. And Adam has been so kind to all of us, especially me, more than anybody, I think, in show business. I'm older than him, but he treats me like I'm his little brother, which is so lovely. Standing next to him, doing some of those movies was special. And then also going back and doing standup again, during COVID, when it was, when clubs were saying we're only 50% open right now. And I said, well, just sell as many, do as many shows until people don't want to come anymore. And I did 14 shows in Nashville. And so anybody who wanted to come, and they weren't hearing it on the news, what I was saying. They weren't getting any conservative comedians talking about it, because you wouldn't get on TV. So I was able to give a viewpoint to people. And I'll tell you, Bill, I can't go anywhere without somebody coming up and saying, thank you for standing up for our country. Thank you."

O'REILLY You get that everywhere you go?

SCHNEIDER "Everywhere I go. And I feel like that, like for whatever, you know, the liberal intelligentsia doesn't have me make movies anymore."

O'REILLY Believe me, there aren't many liberal entertainers that get thank you for standing up for your country. I don't know any of them, you know.

SCHNEIDER "That feels very good, and I think we're gonna start our own. We're going to start doing our own things with Friendly Fire Media, and we have a good group of people that are gonna start making products. And there's a foundation, it's a free speech foundation called the You Can Do It, of course, Foundation, which supports free speech and also pro-American traditional values, and just the Christian values. Like we have, you know, we're helping fund this movie about the Nigerian Christian Massacre that I'm narrating that, and it's you know we have Christians being attacked all over the world, and it's not a coincidence, and why, you know, Catholicism is the is the church that Jesus founded, and that's why I'm there. It's the closest to the actual words of Jesus Christ, and for whatever God gives me left, I want it to be in service, and this nation is the beacon of freedom in the world."

O'REILLY When is this new project going to come up?

SCHNEIDER "Well, we have, right now, Friendly Fire is our studio. Friendly Fire Studio, no S. And You Can Do It, foundation, because we're making products. We're making stuff right now. The first two shows that we're going to do, the first show is a debate show with Andrew Doyle, the great journalist and comedian from Great Britain News. We brought him over here. And then the first, I'm going to a sitcom, it's like an all-in-the-family type sitcom. That's produced by Jack Jiraputa, who is the co-founder of Happy Madison.

O'REILLY And where's that gonna run?

SCHNEIDER "I think, I don't know where we're gonna take it yet. I mean, that might just be on YouTube. We'll see. We're gonna just do some episodes right away, and then in the next month."

O'REILLY Right.

SCHNEIDER "And we'll see where we take it. I mean, right now, there's more money in YouTube than anywhere else, to be honest."

O'REILLY You bet. That's why we're doing this. No, I don't do it for the money.

SCHNEIDER "No, why would you? What would we do with it?"

O'REILLY This is true, though. I would never get to be able to sit down with a guy like you for an hour if I didn't have this.

SCHNEIDER "No, it's a pleasure."

O'REILLY I mean, I've run into you places, but it's, hey, how you doing, you know, that kind of thing. But now I get to know you, I get to know exactly what makes you tick. So all it is is a bonus. And YouTube is the place because it's worldwide.

SCHNEIDER "Yeah, it's like the Colonel because Elvis and the Colonel had a deal 50-50. YouTube's like The New Colonel.

O'REILLY Colonel took 70.

SCHNEIDER "Did he take seventy?"

O'REILLY You've got to read my book, Killing the Legends.

SCHNEIDER "Oh, no!"

O'REILLY That Colonel, oh, oh!

SCHNEIDER "I thought 50. I remember, like, there was a manager who was managing Dave Chappelle in the early 90s. He was taking 35%. You're only supposed to take, you know, at the most 15."

O'REILLY Well, my pal Billy Joel's manager took everything. Billy was living in a lean-to in Hixville.

SCHNEIDER "But that ended up being just like with Leonard Cohen in a way that ended up being a blessing because then Billy had to go out and perform again."

O'REILLY He had to make it right all over again.

SCHNEIDER "But he got to realize from performing, it gave him something to do, but also to realize how many generations of people loved him, and that was beautiful. Same thing with Leonard Cohen, he got ripped off the same thing, and he got out, and he had generations, he had grandparents and then grandkids able to really enjoy that. And while that was, I'm sure, very painful, at the same time, it's rewarding, because you can't take it with you, and you gotta do something, so."

O'REILLY Yeah, there you go. Well, look, Rob, it's, let's see, I don't want to use a cliché, but I learned a lot during this interview.

SCHNEIDER "Oh, thank you."

O'REILLY And for a know-it-all like me, that's, you know, hey, O'Reilly thinks he knows everything, right? I don't think I know everything, I do! Okay, but I learned a lot, and you're a good guy.

SCHNEIDER "Thank you."

O'REILLY And he's a good guy because I'd known him before this, and that whole crew that you got with Sandler, you guys are awesome. You're on my A list. I really appreciate you coming in.

SCHNEIDER "You were one of the OGs, you were one of the originals to start getting people to think why conservatism is a better way to go. And you were the one that I would watch and go like, okay, that started to open up the door for us, seriously."

O'REILLY I'm glad.

SCHNEIDER "Thank you, brother."
