Hillary Clinton's Biggest Problem is Barack Obama (Not Trump)
Hillary Clinton's Biggest Problem is Barack Obama (Not Donald Trump)

I hope you listened closely to the Talking Points, and we have posted it on BillOReilly.com, as we always do. Because this is basically the dilemma that Hillary Clinton has.

The race is close enough – that may change, particularly if there is a terror attack or more police assassinations.

But it is close enough now that Hillary Clinton is going to have to make a decision – particularly if we get to Labor Day and it is still a tie (or Trump is leading).

She is going to have to say, okay, look. The folks are not happy with the State of the Union.

This is Hillary Clinton, she is going to have to do it, make the decision: so, I am going to have to carve out some new positions apart from what Barack Obama has done… and I may even have to criticize Barack Obama.

Now, everybody goes, oh she will never do that.

Well, she might have to. She might have to, because, as I pointed out, the economic data on Friday is brutal. And there will not really be another economic report until October. So, Trump can really go to town, if he chooses to. If his campaign is sophisticated enough to do that.

I cannot make a prediction. But I can tell you that this is her biggest problem right now. And nobody is saying this right now. Hillary Clinton’s biggest problem is Barack Obama, not Donald Trump.

It is Barack Obama because the folks are saying, look, we really don’t like what this has been, where we are in this country. We do not like it.

And then the convention was, there is the president saying everything is great, and there is Mrs. Clinton saying, well, I am going to do what he did.

If I am Trump’s advisor (which I am not!), man do I jump on this kind of thing.

Anyway – other news. It is August and, I don’t know whether you guys know this or not, but if you go to France (and many other European companies – but France is the big one), if you go to France on vacation in August, you cannot get anything done because all the French people are on vacation. And it is not like America where you are on vacation for a week or 2 – they are on vacation the whole month! They are gone! Everybody’s out! It is like, everything stops. Great time to go to Paris – nobody there! You can walk around, get the restaurants, all of that.

Now, in America – it is getting to be the same way.

And how do I know that?

Everyday, I drive into the city – not in the rush hour. I live 22 miles away. And everyday, I have to struggle in. It takes me an hour, and hour and twenty minutes sometimes – to go 22 miles.

I could ride a bike faster than that! I cruised in today, 40 minutes. I actually averaged 32 miles per hour to get into the city! That is unheard of.

Why? Everybody is on vacation! It is August – everybody is out. And I will be taking a vacation soon as well.

But the point is, that the news business slows down. Let’s hope there’s no terror attacks, nothing terrible happens – but there will not be a lot of news generated. Although we have Trump on tomorrow night, and that is always a generator of news.

August – kind of a slow month, everybody needs to recharge.

I am a big advocate of vacations. Get as much time as you can get – because then when you come back, you will be better. You will be better at your job. But if you get worn down, you are exhausted, you are tired, your performance suffers. So take as much time as you an in August. August and Christmas time is when all Americans kind of goof off, and they should!
