Getting older provides new insights and frustrations as your body and mind adjust to deterioration. It happens to everyone. Males physically peak at age 19. Females in their 30's. Staying out of why.
I was never a patient guy, but now I'm worse. I don't cut people enough slack. I see something dubious, and I comment. This is not the way to popularity.
The big problem is - I know too much. I've been around. I understand what is good, mediocre, and bad. Again, a formula for banishment.
Let's take the recent 60 Minutes interview with President Biden. Scott Pelley talked with him. But the chat was soft, with Pelley saying "I wonder" a lot. Mike Wallace, whom I knew well, never wondered. He knew. And he asked tough questions. Pelley didn't even address the border situation. It was incredible.
And I know that 60 Minutes did that intentionally. But why? That I don't know.
Many baby boomers ride around in golf carts and eat dinner at 4:30. Sleep approaches at 9 pm. They sometimes watch singing shows on TV. They are largely content.
Not me. I'm thinking about Scott Pelley.
