Debate Aftermath

Only 9 million people tuned in to see this week's second republican debate. In 2020, about 155 million votes were cast in the presidential election, so less than 5 percent of the electorate watched Wednesday's exposition.

The reason is that among Republicans, it is assumed Donald Trump will be the nominee, so why bother listening to political chatter from his challengers?

Next year's election is still shrouded with uncertainty because of the two front runners. President Biden is a disaster, mentally diminished and befuddled.

Donald Trump is a one-man soap drama king. Anything could happen at any time.

Both men have loyal constituencies and ardent enemies. There'll be no love in this campaign.

If the vote were held tomorrow, I believe Trump would win by a slight margin. Millions of Americans have had quite enough of inflation, open borders, woke, and public disorder. All of those things nest in Democrat precincts.

Donald Trump promises to vanquish the progressive movement, which is desperately trying to cancel him. But it won't work. The former president seems unstoppable in his quest to be on the ballot.

In just four months, we will begin primary voting. We will cover the election aggressively with no malarky. Keep it here.

Have a good weekend! New column on Sunday.
