As we reported last night, the junior Senator from New York, Kirsten Gillibrand, stated publicly that any judge who holds a pro-life belief should be disqualified from holding his or her position. Ms. Gillibrand positing that opposing abortion is akin to being a racist.
That could be the most intolerant, undemocratic statement by a senator in recent memory. It is also anti-religion and totally unacceptable. Even though she obviously worships at the altar of “reproductive rights,” Ms. Gillibrand calls herself a Catholic and was married in the Church.
By comparing pro-life jurists to racists, Kirsten Gillibrand has disqualified herself from serious discussion. You can now find her listed under “fanatic.”
The senator has absolutely no chance to become president as she is polling below 3 percent. She should have been heavily scrutinized for her insane comments but was not. Instead, the corrupt national media pretty much ignored the story.
There comes a time when honest, clear-thinking Americans have to say enough. This is one of those times. No matter what your opinion on abortion, we can’t support eliminating Americans who believe in life from public life.
Kirsten Gillibrand should be ashamed of herself but that would require perspective and a conscience. The Senate is no place for irresponsible posturing but few will call out Gillibrand. Because if the do, they risk being branded themselves.
