It’s President’s Day and if George Washington and Abraham Lincoln were still around, I believe they would be depressed by what has happened to America.  From the political hatred, to the proposed socialism, to the failure of the powerful media to seek the truth.

 

The truth situation is truly dire and here’s the proof.  In late January, TV actor Jussie Smollett apparently told Chicago police that two white men spouting pro-Trump slogans assaulted him at around 2am while he was walking home from a fast food place.

 

Smollett is African-American and gay.  He claimed the assailants put a noose around his neck among other things.

 

The press, led by The New York Times of course, ran hard with Smollett’s narrative just as it did with the Covington, Kentucky teenagers.  ABC News gave almost one hour of sympathetic coverage to Smollett, NBC News 35 minutes on all it’s vehicles.

 

I did not even mention the story because it sounded phony but I had no facts, so best to wait for some to emerge.

 

Now, doubt has been established.  A Grand Jury has been called to examine Jussie Smollett’s actions as the local CBS station in Chicago is reporting that he paid two men to fake the attack.

 

Of course, Smollett remains innocent until proven guilty.

 

In addition to the corrupt media, a bunch of uber-left politicians jumped on the story to condemn people.  Nancy Pelosi, Kirsten Gillibrand, Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, Corey Booker and Al Sharpton all convicted the phantom assailants, believing Smollett’s account without any skepticism.  They couldn’t wait to begin virtue-signaling and bashing Trump.

 

You may remember that Harris, Booker and Gillibrand, all now presidential candidates, denied due process to Brett Kavanaugh.

 

Actor-director Rob Reiner, who is about as extreme as a human can get, said this:  “Homophobia existed before Trump, but there is no question that since he has injected his hatred into the American bloodstream, we are less decent, less loving and less human.”

 

I will submit that it is Rob Reiner who is peddling hatred.
