Saw The Beach Boys last night at the Paramount in Huntington, Long Island. Lead singer Mike Love is 81, can still hit the notes and doesn't need a teleprompter for lyrics.
Although many young Americans don't understand (before their time) that the band epitomizes a far more innocent country than we have now. An era when strife and conflict seemed far away. Vietnam, of course, wiped that out.
But it's refreshing to hear the old songs, takes you back to a far less complicated world.
The Boys sounded great, and the young guys backing up are terrific in replicating the sound.
