The Political Divide in America
January 22, 2020
This will not shock you.  A new Gallup poll says the political divide in America is the widest it’s ever been.  According to the poll, a whopping 89 percent of registered republicans approve of President Trump’s job performance while a dismal 7 percent of democrats do.

Doing that math that’s an incredible 82 percent gap.

There are three reasons this has happened.  First, President Trump loathes people who oppose him and, hello, that would be democrats.  There is no common ground.

Mr. Trump believes he’s doing an excellent job for all Americans and that should be appreciated by all Americans.

Democrats think the President is Rosemary’s baby all grown up.

That leads us to reason number two.  The media has demonized Donald Trump to such an extent that reasoned discussion about him has vanished.  The press signal is clear: democrats must not only oppose the President, they must HATE him.

The third reason is not often talked about. The conservative movement has not changed all that much in the past ten years. The right, generally speaking, opposes abortion, gun control, and higher taxes. Conservative Americans want smaller government not a giant nanny state.  Not much new on the right.

But the left has radically changed, pardon the pun.  Socialism is openly embraced by two of their presidential candidates.  Climate change has become an obsession, not just an issue.  Denial of due process, extreme political correctness, and attacks on so called white privilege, are all embraced by liberal democrats, who never would have highlighted those things when Barack Obama first decided to run for president.

Tonight on the No Spin News, I’ll address this question: can the political divide be healed?  See you beginning at 7 eastern.
