One thing that seems perplexing when it comes to the issues of illegal immigration is that Mexico often finds itself at the bottom of the list when it comes to criticism.
First, the U.S. is often blamed for the majority of the issues when it comes to "attracting" migrants to this great country. That's unfair.
Second, there are those who blame the immigrants for trying to come here, taking the risk. But who wouldn't want an opportunity to make their lives better for themselves or their family?
Third, the cartels are brutal regimes that are responsible for driving people from their homes, killing people, and flooding the U.S. with illegal drugs. There is no sympathy for them.
But the Mexican government has been unable to reign in the cartels for decades; corruption has led to criminals overrunning various parts of the country and a largely unmanned border on the Mexican side.
It's become so bad that the U.S. is warning travelers there is a risk of kidnapping if they travel to Mexico.
So why isn't anyone asking the Mexican government why they continue to fail their citizens as well as U.S. citizens?
