O'Reilly on Illegal Immigration, Mueller, & North Korea
August 7, 2017

Monday's No Spin News is audio only. We'll be back tomorrow and Wednesday there will be a special No Spin News surprise!

Bill began Monday with the news that crime-ridden Chicago is suing the federal government, which is withholding funds because Mayor Rahm Emanuel defiantly says his city will remain a sanctuary for illegal immigrants.  "The Justice Department says that if you do not obey federal law," Bill reported, "you won't get grants to help you.  We're talking about cities that will not hold criminal illegal aliens when ICE asks them to do that.  The federal government is right on the law, there isn't any doubt about it.  Chicago will lose $3.2-million that would have gone to pay for police cars in the murder capital of the United States."

In a similar vein, College Park, Maryland wants illegal aliens to vote in local elections.  Bill pointed out that they are not entitled to vote because they are not citizens.  Also, the city of Los Angeles has paid $1.3-billion to illegal alien families in entitlements since 2015.  "That's staggering," Bill declared, "because the city doesn't have any money.  There are estimated to be more illegal aliens in Los Angeles than in any other city."

Bill then tied these various stories together to paint the bigger picture:  "The far left does not want to restrain illegal immigration, they want the EU system whereby anyone with a passport can come into America and stay as long as they want.  This is the open border crew and there are more of those people than you know.  They can't say it because that appalls most Americans, but this is the powerful lobby that has taken root in the Democratic Party.  The solution is to have Congress come together and make a fair immigration law, but the Democratic Party doesn't want any restraints.  There won't be comprehensive immigration reform."

Turning to the intrigue in Washington, Special Counsel Robert Mueller has established a grand jury in the District of Columbia that will investigate allegations of Russia involvement in last year's election.  Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, for one, is very worried about this development.  "The Mueller threat is probably the most deadly," Gingrich told Fox News, "because he has the power of the law and the power to indict people.  I regard the Mueller example as the deep state at the very worst and it worries me a lot."

For more on the threat to President Trump, Bill spoke with former Assistant United States Attorney Alex Little, who is now in private practice.  "It's true that folks in DC aren't the biggest Trump fans," Little said, "but the grand jury is structured to not be particularly helpful to anyone who is being investigated.  The prosecutors are going to be able to do what they want."

Little theorized that Robert Mueller will likely go out of his way to be fair.  "I don't think the fact that there's a grand jury means there will be an indictment," he said. "Mueller cares enough about his reputation that he won't come out with something that is half-baked, and we don't yet know the evidence is there.  Some folks in the campaign could have been engaged in illegal activities, but that doesn't mean the president was."  Bill concluded, "This is about overturning an election and the evidence has to be beyond a reasonable doubt."

Moving overseas, Bill expressed amazement that the United Nations has placed additional sanctions on North Korea.  "China didn't veto this," he pointed out, "and China is telling North Korea to knock off the nuclear stuff.  So this will hurt North Korea, but we don't know how much.  If this doesn't restrain the idiot dictator Kim Jong Un, nothing will.  The only thing keeping him in power is his military."

As always, Premium Members checked in with their opinions and questions.  PMs differed wildly on the likely outcome of Robert Mueller's investigation, with some believing President Trump will be exonerated and others saying this will lead to the end of his tenure.  "The national press has already convicted President Trump," Bill groused, "and they believe his election was illegitimate.  I'm rooting for the truth because the truth makes the country stronger."

Finally, Bill coyly teased the upcoming Wednesday special edition of the No Spin News.  Without giving away too much, he advised Premium Members that they'll be seeing him in a spiffy jacket and tie.  In the meantime, check back Tuesday for the No Spin News and analysis that cannot be found anywhere else.
