The progressive left is in a conundrum because it opposes the Iran action, yet that nation is vile and destructive; it's hard to sympathize with the Mullahs.

So all criticism about the fracas is directed toward President Trump, who, for some of the far left, is actually worse than the Iranian killers.

Mr. Trump cannot back off from the hostilities, as he would immediately be branded a failed leader. He has to play it out with the defiant Mullahs, and that will cause economic pain, something many Americans are loath to accept.

As I said at the beginning of the conflict, this is the President’s biggest gamble as the midterms loom.

As a loyal American, I want to see Iran defeated, its reign of terror destroyed. I’d feel that way under Joe Biden or any president, for that matter.

I understand the price that has to be paid for that. Doing the right thing in matters like this is never easy.
