On this Good Friday it is worth thinking about why no mail will be delivered and why the financial markets are closed. No famous or powerful person has had his or her death honored in this way.

 

It is also worth noting that the man whose death is memorialized today is the most famous person who has ever existed. And that man was a poor stonecutter who lived in a tiny hamlet with his immediate family.

 

The story of Jesus the Nazarene is true and ongoing. The theology that he created dominates the world two thousand years after his betrayal and execution.

 

Even if you are not a Christian or a believer at all, the remarkable accomplishments of Jesus are worth thinking about. My book “Killing Jesus” and the movie based on it are worth seeking out. Hope you will.
