Perhaps the biggest Trump hater on Capitol Hill is Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut. On Monday, someone writing on X put out that 26 Iranian vessels had evaded the US Navy located in the Straits of Hormuz.
To which Murphy responded, “awesome.”
Hard to believe that a sitting Senator is rooting for Iran, a terror state.
Murphy now says he was being sarcastic.
About what? What’s the point of the alleged sarcasm? There doesn’t seem to be one. My take is that Senator Murphy wants the United States to fail in the conflict against Iran because he despises President Trump and wants him to lose.
Not being sarcastic here. I believe that is Murphy’s mindset, and he’s not alone.
Of course, that point of view is loathsome when US military people are fighting for their country.
