The Pope vs. Putin
The Pope vs. Putin

Good confronted Evil on Christmas.  Pope Leo, a man of peace, directly asked Vladimir Putin, a man of death, for a 24-hour ceasefire in the Ukraine war.

Evil Putin, of course, said no, continuing to target civilians with drones and rockets. His war is not army against army, it is terror strikes directed at civilians, much like Hitler’s murderous blitz bombing targeting England.

Putin and Hitler have much in common, with no human feelings whatsoever.  In today’s world, the evil of Hitler, Stalin, and Mao in the twentieth century is mostly discussed without emotion.  So long ago.

But as I point out in “Confronting Evil,”  the world can clearly see the Russian leader committing daily murder.  He does that with the acceptance of his people, including the disgraceful head of the Russian Orthodox Church, who props up bad Vlad.

So do various commentators in the USA, China, India, Hungary, and others.  There is absolutely no excuse for their evil behavior.

Pope Leo told reporters he is sad Vlad wouldn’t stop the violence even on Christmas Day.  I’m sad as well.  But anger should be the primary emotion directed at Vladimir Putin.  Sorry to be blunt, but he doesn’t deserve to be on this earth.
