Chances are conservative economist Stephen Moore will not be celebrating May Day. But socialists everywhere will be including Senator Elizabeth Warren, who may be a full-blown communist at this point.
This month, Ms. Warren introduced a wealth tax, and 50 of her fellow Democrats signed on. The proposed law would levy an annual 2 percent federal tax on those Americans holding at least $50 million in assets.
Like May Day, the tax would be an annual event with IRS agents adding up what you have and confiscating 2 percent of everything; cars, jewelry, paintings, houses, your collie, the list is endless. Every year. Everything.

According to Mr. Moore, high-tax liberal states like California and New York have lost more than one trillion dollars in income taxes due to high earners fleeing. That’s why Elizabeth Warren wants to make America an economic penitentiary. Want to leave? Fork it over.
Of course, all of this is unconstitutional until the Supreme Court becomes a progressive body. And it could. Confiscation of private property, which is what communism is, might have great appeal to the lady from the Bronx, Justice Sonia Sotomayor, and other progressive jurists. Liz Warren is just setting the table.
As May Day approaches, it is important to understand that Communism has never worked anywhere unless guns are aimed. Stalin, Mao, Fidel, Ho Chi Minh, Little “Rocket Man,” and others were all locked and loaded when they secured power. So, symbolically, are Warren, Bernie Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez, and Mamdani.
They all want your stuff if you’ve achieved wealth. They hide behind class envy and financial ignorance. They are totalitarians gunning to control the entire economy of the United States. The government will decide what you can and can’t have, and where you can live. How Putinesque.
