New Year’s Eve 2018 and America is a tense place. The President remains on the defensive as his staff changes rapidly, the stock market is unpredictable, and the folks themselves are as divided as they have been since the Vietnam era.
On that note, the biggest news story of 2018, the one that directly affects all Americans, is the rise of political hatred and the collapse of honest reporting about our country.
On Wednesday, I will analyze that incredible story in detail but for now you should know that you are not being told the truth about current events because of ideology and money. Media organizations are cashing in big time on the Trump presidency and all the controversy surrounding it. Truth in reporting is the largest casualty of that greed.
One side note: there was not a better example of the media’s failure to seek the truth then the Brett Kavanaugh story. It was all accusations, all the time. I will refer you again to analysis on PJ Media that details the Kavanaugh situation. Every American should read that.
I am not a New Year’s Eve kind of guy largely because I’m socially boring. Pouring alcohol down my throat and wearing a dopey party hat is not my idea of fun. Watching phony media people pretend to spread cheer in Times Square isn’t either. So I’m reading tonight - Frederick Forsyth’s new thriller “The Fox.” It’s not about Steve Doocy.
2018 has been a good year for BillOReilly.com, of course made possible by you. We stand for honest, fact-based analysis delivered with no spin but also no malice. We realize that hatred is the most destructive emotion because we’ve dealt with it for more than 20 years.
Stay safe tonight and have fun. 2019 could very well be an excellent year. We’ll be here to chronicle it everyday.
See you on Wednesday.
