“Confronting Evil” continues to sell briskly, and I would like to thank everyone who is supporting the book, including President Trump.
One of the questions I hear is logical: what ties the 15 miscreants I write about together? The answer is this: every one of the evil doers affects our lives today.
A great example is the Roman Emperor Caligula. A depraved despot, the guy presided over the most powerful nation in the ancient world. Not only did he mismanage everything, he encouraged the Roman citizenry to embrace barbarism and social disorder.
The result, of course, was the eventual collapse of Rome.
In the USA, we don’t have psychopaths like Caligula in charge, but we do have severely misguided people wielding power. For example, Zohran Mamdani may soon run New York City. He believes the police are a bigger threat than the criminal element, and that white affluent people should pay higher taxes.
That kind of leadership will harm New Yorkers just as Caligula damaged Rome. It’s different strokes for different folks, but the warning is clear to clear-thinking people.
Sadly, that group seems to be quickly shrinking.
Enjoy the weekend.
