The Rise of Sports Violence
Get ready for sports violence to rise in America, perhaps to the level of European soccer crowds.  Drunken working-class fans are notorious in Great Britain and other countries for provoking brawls. Seething economic frustration and resentments drive the dangerous situations which have been going on for years.

I remember being in a Glasgow pub when a "bother boy" snarled at me, demanding to know what football team I supported.

"Whatever one you like, mate," I replied.

Judging from his scar-lined face, the guy was in the brawl business.  Loser.  No path upward.

On Sunday, fights broke out at the Eagles-Lions game, and this is just the beginning. Thugs know many American cities will not even prosecute assaults anymore.  They also understand they are going nowhere unless they get educated and work hard. Two tickets millions of Americans are now refusing to punch.

So, expect some brutality this football season and even at baseball games.  Our society is sinking quickly because restraints have been lifted by progressive forces.

As the sergeant used to say on Hillstreet Blues: "be careful out there."
