The American Party
Welcome to the "American Party!"  Elon Musk is backing a third political organization in the USA, and he has the cash to do it.

The new party is decidedly all about money, cutting back the massive spending coming out of Washington. Musk is correct when he says politicians use tax dollars to amass power.  Just look at Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski, who voted for the "big bill" only because the Republicans earmarked big cash for her constituents.

That stuff happens all the time.  They call it "back room deals."

Elon Musk hates that and believes he can reform the decades-old system by energizing a new political movement.  The trouble is, he will not succeed.

The reason is easy. Most voters want, and many actually need, financial help from the feds.  Some of that is fair. Taxpayers fund social security and Medicare, so it's only right that the contract remains in place. Medicaid is essentially charity.  Most voters are okay with the safety net.

So, where exactly is Elon going? Yes, optional spending should be a reform target, but almost every democrat opposes that restraint.  Republicans generally support more responsible spending, but as we see with red-state Alaska, they will take the money as well.

It is expensive to live in America. Taxes are everywhere on everything. Citizens reach retirement facing acute budget decisions.

Most do not want to lose what financial protection they have. And Elon Musk will not change that.

See you this evening for the No Spin News.
