Media Chaos and Hypocrisy

Joy Reid needs a safe space. The hard left MSNBC commentator stands accused of making a variety of anti-LGBT comments including mocking Rosie O’Donnell’s weight. Ms. Reid says she didn’t do it. She says she was hacked. No one believes her.

Nevertheless the crew at MSNBC is “standing by” Ms. Reid and apparently so is NBC. She will also not be the subject of a sponsor boycott by Media Matters which says that deriding gay people does not meet the “high bar” for a boycott.

So Laura Ingraham teasing an activist high school kid meets the boycott bar but vicious comments directed at a minority group do not? Let’s hear it for Media Matters, everyone. What a terrific non-profit civic organization.

NBC and some of its personnel are also supporting Tom Brokaw who has been accused of “misconduct.” Nice of those folks to show loyalty to a comrade, who now must deal with the allegation stigma that has savaged so many others.

MSNBC in particular has been brutal towards men facing accusations - often convicting them on the air. Hypocrisy has always been part of the human condition and NBC seems to have perfected it.
