President Trump is lashing out at CNN and MSNBC for saying the U.S. bombing mission was not the success the administration claims. Using anonymous sources, CNN cites "intelligence analysts" as the source for this dubious reporting.
The truth is that nobody knows the extent of the damage at the uranium depots, not even the President. How could he assess the situation? There are no Americans on the ground near the targets, and the Iranians themselves can't go underground for fear of the earth above them collapsing. They wouldn't tell the truth anyway.
Satellite pictures show huge surface damage and mountain cave-ins. It looks devastating. But there is no scorecard so the CNN report is unreliable. No surprise.
The merchants of malice in the media don't care what is actually true. They make their money hating or approving of Donald Trump. It's all so tedious. Yet, it never ends.
The odds are the U.S. bombing did inflict tremendous damage on Iran's nuke program. Otherwise, the Mullahs would be gloating. They are not. They are frightened.
So, that's the truth. The nuke damage will someday be assessed. But don't count on the American media to report on it honestly.
